Holy s**t! I guess I better lock myself in a padded room.
-
Not to mention that Mac has some of the biggest playoff goals in Wings history. He usually takes his game to another level for the playoffs.
-
ORLY class of the league eh. They showed so much class last Sunday with all the cheap shots they were throwing around. Let the MIGHTY Ducks have all the sunshine they want, it just makes them the bigger target.
-
Yeah, I just watch the replay of his goal. Man talk about no angle on the shot. It was a hell of a goal.
-
I missed the first period but when somebody told me that was exactly what I said. Man, I'm so glad it was nothing too serious. It still looks more like he got his bell rung than a knee injury after seeing the replay a few times.

AMEN to that brother!!!!

The main difference btwn the Malarchuk incident and this was that Malarchuk's was the juggular which wasn't as serious because it was a vein not an artery. So the blood from that had already provided the necessary oxygen to his brain. Zednik's was arterial so he was ultimately losing blood as well as oxygen to his brain.

You're not alone in the wish that he'd come back. Articles like this always bring me hope. His holdout in 1997-98 really tore me up knowing what kind of player was "waiting in the wings", so to speak.
-
Yep, not a suprise at all. You have to keep him in. He gives us the better shot at a win. Now, hopefully the defense will start the game too.
-
I'll admit that this is the most anxious I've been at a trade deadline that I can remember.
-
He's in his second full season!!!! He's young and a little inexperienced. He's not completely used to the longer NHL schedule yet. I expected him to drop off a little about this time in the season. Hudler as well. Once he gets his second wind ad confidence back none of this will be an issue. It's funny how fast people forget how spectacular this guy can be. Why trade that away for a rental or someone older.
-
Amen to that! It's nice to see from an outside perspective.

I attempted to find that info once before and didn't find a damn thing. They just don't want a fans opinion I guess. My response to the above post, WTF even in slo-mo you can see that Guigere drew the contact puposefully. I guess if you are blind you are blind and that goes from the bottom tier refs all the way to the top tier refs.

I truly believe that A is the only fair thing to do in this case. Plus, while he's laying on the ice you should shower him with snow in the face and kick him in the nads. (That's pretty much what it feels like to us fans when those types of things happen)
-
LOL!! I think he is.
-
What really pissed me off is that in when Homer is on the edge of the crease Giggy was a foot away from him. He starts to feel the pressure on and he moves to the edge of the crease to draw contact. He blatantly made the attempt to draw a call. The proof is right above. ERRRRRRRGH!!!! They need to destroy Nashville tonight and get this out of their systems.

I saw that when it happened too. I lol'd pretty bad. They sure do start em young over in the GTA.

Message sent. Thanks for the link.

I'm at the point now where I don't think it's a bad idea at all to allow for a coach's challenge to a goal and only a goal. Situations like yesterday's game, where the outcome of the game was directly affected by a bad call should have some ability to be overturned. I don't want to see replay after replay slowing the game down but I can think of at least a dozen games in the past 3 to 4 seasons where an important game was ultimately decided by the refs. IMO, the best way to handle something like this would be to penalize the team whose challenge is overruled. That would deter a coach from challenging every goal.
-
A piss poor call from a reputable official. It sure took the exciting finish out of a national broadcast. to Dannyboy
-
Not a chance this would happen. I see your point but Drapes has way too much invested in Detroit to waive the clause. Besides, why would you get rid of one of the team leaders at this point in the season.
-
After reading about this earlier in the morning, AO has totally gained my respect. Now that's determination and talent at it's best.
-
Why in the hell is Keith Primeau on that list??? His numbers might have looked alright but not HOF IMO.
-
I think it's Mickey Redmond that says something like "The defending SC champions are always the favorites until someone else takes their place". I suppose that's good logic.

You have to give the guy some respect. He sure has made good on his efforts so far. Hopefully, this will bring him one step closer.
