That makes some sense. Right now I always park at the Greektown Casino and take the People Mover around. I occasionally gamble at Greektown. I would more than likely move my activities toward the Motor City Casino if it was close to the new arena. I'm sure a lot of folks would do the same since the People Mover doesn't cover that area.

They play @ Windsor on Valentine's Day and Windsor comes to Saginaw on Mar. 1st and Mar. 14th.

The Saginaw Spirit. Easy one since I live here.

I'm so glad that the OHL moved here 6 seasons ago. Saginaw used to be a huge hockey hub back in the 70's and 80's then the UHL took over and it all fell apart. I get tix from work every once in a while and the parking is free if you know where to park. I've been down to a few Whalers vs. Spirit games in Plymouth. It's a lot of fun. What did you think of the arena in Saginaw OsGOD? I was greatly involved in the whole renovation of the complex.

Meanwhile, the other Michigan OHL club is doing just fine and dandy and catching those Whales.

I just love this article - How the Mighty Wings Have Fallen

Yeah, hat guy put the cart WAAAAAAAAAAYYYYY before the horse. I wonder if he's still coming to conclusions like that with any other teams. -
Honestly, Samuellson has to get better looks before he shoots. His stellar season of two years ago included a lot of lucky bounces but it gave him a ton of confidence. If he puts a couple in the net in the next few games I'd expect to see a little more offensive output from him by season's end. If not then maybe he's a viable trade option. We really don't have too many trade options available right now. By that, I mean, we can't afford to give up a Hudler or Flip in a trade. I'm glad to see that Kronner is putting up some offensive numbers lately. I was really beginning to wonder if he was capable.

Yes!!! Chelios would have this tourney at his mercy alone but he's too good to make it fair so i don't expect we'd see him.

Not to beat this Fedorov thing to a pulp but I was wondering what his contract status was with Columbus and how much we would have to pay/give up to get him. He's definitely not the premier scorer that he was in his prime but he could definitely be a great fit on the second line. I guess the biggest problem I see in making a deal for him would be that we'd be feeding some of our talent to a division rival.

Excellent!!! A late Christmas gift indeed!

I don't disagree with you but you dedfinitely can't count out hte playoff experience that those guys got last year. We went pretty deep into the playoffs and they seemed to thrive somewhat. ( I know you've been around long enough to know this but I just have to put it out there)

http://www.nhl.com/nhl/app?service=page&am...sPage&tab=2 Click the link on this page to hear it. Mike talks about a myriad of topics with some of the out of town writers. It's about 14 minutes long.

You know of all the games my brother had to choose for us to see this year, it had to be one of the only two losses at home. God, this team is EN FUEGO!!!!!

I had the complete torrent file for the tribute but I might have deleted it. I'll check and repost later.

Actually, normally I would have agreed about the flopping other than the puck trickling across the line, but seeing that I was at the game on Saturday and watched our powerplay get outplayed virtually all night, Dom stood up for at least two of the three goals allowed on breaks. Maybe he should have flopped instead of standing up. His methods may be unconventional but they've worked for his entire career. I definitely do not put all the blame on Dom for that loss but he has to be better when he has that kind of time to play the guy on the break.

I'll just throw this one out there for an answer to number 1. I'd replace Fetisov with Datsyuk and throw Feds on the blue line. Now that line-up would be sick. Edit: Damn you beat me to it by a few minutes. I guess I needed to refresh.

Good to see the Legemeister has returned. Honestly, I thought the Preds had fallen a lot harder than they really have. They're still a force to be reckoned with.

Hear ye, hear ye! The Ducks savior is returning.... *yawn*. How long 'til his sidekick Teemu returneth. Who knows??? Boy we sure didn't see this coming. (completely sarcastic) I agree that Burke should be liable for the entire salary. It's definitely a bunch of BS.

Actually, I was thinking league-wide. I realized that both were Wings also but I just figured that with Luc being the highest scoring Left Winger of all time he'd at least be taken into consideration. Hull is one of the few who scored 700+ goals so I thought as another Winger he'd also be taken into consideration league-wide. It's only opinion anyway.
-
I tend to agree with a lot of your choices but a couple missing from the line-up IMO are Luc Robitaille and Brett Hull.

Do any Red Wing players read this forum?

Sure it's possible that some might but I doubt that many do. -
This kind of BS actually pisses me off a bit. This is similar to when Floppa took half the year off and came back. That was due in part to injury. I sort of understood that. The thing that pisses me off a bit is that these guys aren't injured. They seem to be stalling so they don't have to grind out an entire season. If they end up retiring then it's all good but I'd be if I were some young prospect losing my job to someone who didn't want to have to work hard all year long. If this drags out half the season I don't think the league should allow them back. Just my opinion.

Cancer is just the worst. My father-in-law is battling right now. I pray that someday we can put this disease into the same class as polio. My prayers definitely go out to him and his family and everyone else that deals with these diseases on a daily basis.
