I would also like to point out that the hungrier team typically wins. So far, the Wings have not been as hungry as the Yotes. Howard is playing fine. Bryz is giving up almost 3x more rebounds but Detroit cannot capitalize.

From my count, Bryz is worse with his rebound control. The difference is the Phoenix is all over the rebounds helping their goalie.

At the end of the second period Rebounds: Bryz: 15 Howard: 6 Shots: Detroit: 22 Bryz: 19

About half way through the 2nd period. Rebound count: Bryz: 14 Howard: 4 I think its clear who has better rebound control so far in the game.

Made me wonder why we stopped playing Abby in the finals last season. We won the first 2 games and then lost 4 of the next 6. Abby has the makings of a clutch player with his play at MSU.

All goalies give up bad rebounds from time to time. Even the best goalies give up wide open chances. Its just the way the puck bounces. That is why these are 7 game series. It eliminates how a bad bounce can determine a series or a hot goalie can determine a series if he is only hot one game. Watch this game in its entirety and count how many saves Howard has made where he has done as you said or covered it with no rebound. Do the same with Bryz. You will see both have given up their fair share of bad rebounds. The main difference here is that as a Wings fan, you only remember the bad things from your own goalie and see the good things from Bryz. To blame every goal Howard has allowed on him is pretty harsh and inaccurate.

True story. All 3 goals they Yotes have scored have been defensive breakdowns. Howard cannot be faulted for any of them. Keep drinking then!
