I am not nervous at all. No sense of being nervous or stressing over a game we have zero control over. If you are worried about the series even though we are up 2-0, you have reason to be worried. The Pens have outshot us the last few games. They are playing very well defensively but have had some bad bounces go in. Seems like last night they finally got a bounce when Stuart put that puck in our own net, but that was about the end of the bounces. They are getting a lot of chances to score, but just can't capitalize. You have to wonder when the dam will break open. On the flip side, Osgood is playing his best hockey of his career right now. Fleury has to be the best player for the Pens and so far he hasn't responded very well to being that "best player". Lastly, the Wings seem to have luck on their side right now. In order to win the Stanley Cup, you have to have some luck thats for sure. I just can't wait for the next game on Tuesday. I still say Wings win the series in 6 games.

Another good stat is one I heard on ESPN today. Of the 44 teams that have won game 1 and 2 of the finals, 41 of them went on to win the cup. The last time a team came back down 2-0 was the Canadiens back in the 70s.

Osgood has the the best winning % in Cup Final history

I can proudly say I was never against Osgood. I was complaining about a few other players, but Osgood wasn't one of them. Remember the guy who brought a big sign to game 4 of the finals in 1997 that said, "Vernon, I apologize"? There should be a bunch of forum members that should do the same thing here for Osgood. -
http://www.freep.com/article/20090531/COL2...hout+their+best An excellent article on this issue. I agree that Malkin should not be suspended. I think the rule is dumb and hopefully this will make the NHL remove the instigator rule. The only people begging for this suspension are moron Wings fans who want an advantage in the next game. Personally, I want to see the Wings beat the Pens at full strength. Then, there is no doubt who the champion is. I already know if the Wings were to lose in these finals, every Wings fan would be making excuses such as Pavel being out or Lidstrom playing hurt. It makes the fans feel better about a loss if you can put the blame on injuries. Well, the Pens are not as dinged up as the Wings. Pulling Malkin out for a game would just put the Pens fans in the same boat. If they lost game 3, they would claim it was because of the suspension. I want there to be no doubt, and letting Malkin play is the right thing to do. In order to be the Stanley Cup Champion, you should have to be the best team and beat the best in the league.

I hope he does. I don't want the Pens fans to cop out. I want the Wings to play the Pens at full strength. No excuses.

If I had CBC, I would watch it there. However, I guess I just don't have a problem with Versus or NBC announcers. If it was up to me though, I would have the home announcers do the work for national TV. So we would have Mick and Ken for our home games and the Pens announcers for their home games. I have no problems with that, but I think the Wings fans here would be pissy even with that arrangement.

Haha! Thats it!

From the rules "The criteria for the review shall include, but not limited to, the score, previous incidents, etc." I don't think Malkin has had many previous incidents.

Babcock clarifies and admits he may have misspoke. I like it. Thats class. (A comment on Crosby and Zets going after each other) I am on the NHL Network and they are interviewing Babcock right now.
-
Man, that would be awesome. In a pivotal game for the Pens, their leading scorer and point getter is in a luxury suite with Lemieux. Wow.
-
Remember Therrian from last year? He would blab about "interference" 10-12 times at every press conference.
-
According to the rules, it should be. Exceptions have been made though....so we will see.
-
My definition of the Pens in trouble is the Pens down 3-1 or 3-0 in the series. Obviously your definition is a lot more lenient.
-
Good question! I know exceptions have been made in the past though.....wouldn't surprise me if they made another one here.
-
Fleury isn't broken until the Wings are carrying the cup around the ice.
-
Really? I didn't know that. I thought I was cheering for the Caps all this time!
-
Still, proclaiming that the Pens are in trouble after only 2 games is not accurate. Especially with how they have played in the 2 losses. This series is far from over.
-
In case you didn't know. They lost the first 2 games against the Caps in the playoffs. Then they won 4 of 5 to win the series. They aren't in trouble until they go down 3-0 or 3-1 when the odds of them winning goes down considerably. The Pens are just missing on their chances, and Mike Milbury was right.....the Wings are scoring goals from hard work and luck. That luck won't hold up forever and if you can't give the Pens that many good chances.
-
Haha, didn't seem like it to me. Next time, put in the /facetious tag.
-
They aren't in trouble until they lose on Tuesday.
-
OMG, thats the dumbest comment I have read in this thread. 2 game suspension......my god.
-
Ok, Osgood embellished that a little bit. Still, its good to see the Wings fight back against the Pens.
-
Pens aren't used to a team that fights back.
-
Pens aren't getting 2 in the last 39 seconds. This game is over.
-
Damn, Osgood is awesome. Every LGW forum member that gave Osgood crap before the playoffs started should be ashamed with themselves.
