Almost a point per game average over the course of his career. I think he had more than just 2 good seasons. There are a lot of players out there that would love those numbers.

I agree 100%. Really going to miss not seeing him in the NHL. I do agree that he is making a good move for him. He probably wants to play with his brother again and as Scott Neidermeyer found out, its fun to play with your siblings.

Yet scores of fans continue to believe it. How about we just wait for an official notification instead of all these speculative rumors?

The hawks fans that I know thought the refs called a horrible game. For the most part, the end result of the game makes a big difference. If the Wings had lost this game, then there would be scores of Wings fans bitching about the lack of calls. I guess I know too many hardcore fans of both teams. Neither sides fans are going to be happy unless their team gets a 20-1 power play advantage.

I have 3 wings fans and 2 hawks fans in my living room right now. I hear one side or the other bitching about a call or a missed call non stop from the time when the puck drops.

Probably about 50% of the Wings fans on this forum really believe that. It just makes me laugh. As if the Pens will need help from the refs to beat the Wings. Lets put it this way, if the Wings lose to the Pens in the finals, the Wings will have no one to blame but themselves. The Pens are a good team, and they are driven to win the cup this year after losing out last season. They are a very hungry team, and the Wings are going to have to play their best hockey to win games. There is no conspiracy. If you want to believe there is one to help yourself sleep at night, then do so.

I tend to watch the games with other people, a few of them being hawks fans. One such hawks fan was complaining as much about missed calls as the Wings fans on this forum. I am a Red Wings fan, but I am also a hockey fan. I also play hockey as well as ref ice hockey, so I understand what the refs have to go through at least on some level. I am not one of these moron fans that ******* about everything that should or shouldn't have been called. Lets face facts here, if the fans were calling the penalties, it would be 3 on 3 the whole game. Each team would have 70 penalties, the shots would be 6-5, and it would be a 0-0 game because there would be so many goalie interference calls. So, in short, Chicago fans and Wings fans are both delusional. They both think their respective teams commit no penalties while the other team commits them all. Neither side would be happy unless there is a 20-1 margin in power plays for their team. I am glad I don't fit into that category.

If there is one thing I have learned, it is that all the Wings fans on this forum are just that....fans. They are not the smartest when it comes to hockey as a game. Many of them have never played the game for that matter. Its easy to judge players just based on a scoresheet. Its much harder to look at all the intangibles a player brings to the table. Look at Ken Daneyko for instance. While with the Devils, he won championships, but didn't score or assist much during the regular season or playoffs. His defensive efforts earned him many seasons with a high +-. There is no changing the minds of some people here. Heck, its a public forum and people can be brutal when it comes to players they hate or love. That being said, I think this Wings team is still a better team we brought to the table than we did last year. Everyone is playing well and doing a great job. So I say stay the course. Our high offensive players are going to break out eventually. Maybe in the finals when we need them most. Patience....

Yea, Hossa just gets the body played on him everytime. Smart to do that, but thats what they are doing.

They are just throwing it at the net.

Our two best players didn't really show up in the finals either last year yet we won.

He was at the end of a shift when I noticed the same thing.

Datsyuk and Hossa are getting so many chances. Their defensive efforts make them worth it.

I am about to turn the laptop off and kick the hawks fan out of my house.
