I agree. They have to call it both ways, but Stuarts hit was on someone who didn't have the puck. It wasn't blindside it, but it was interference. I can see why the refs called it. Still, the tackle behind the net by Pronger was crap.- 1,913 replies

Selanne didn't have the puck just like Hudler didn't have it when Brown nailed him. Yet, they gave Brown a 5 minute major. I think that call is a good one, only for 2 minutes too.- 1,913 replies

One that is partison to the Wings of course. Thats what every fan on this board wants.

I agree. Keith Jones was a great player for the Flyers and Avs. I liked him because he wasn't afraid to get into the dirty areas. Plus, he had a scoring touch. That being said, Jones is right. The Ducks are doing what they need to do to win. They were aggressive and they should be commended for taking it physically to the Wings. If anything, it was an attempt to get them fired up for a very tough game 7. That being said, the Wings woke up ready to play game 7 which is what they should have done. They have put game 6 behind them and are ready to play game 7. I guess we will see which Wings team shows up, but my bet is on the one that will chase Hiller from the net.

I also agree with you as well. These calls have to be consistant across the board. I know that Wings fans remember all the infractions that happen to them, but remember none that their team commit. That being said, I can handle a very tightly called game thats for sure. Just keep in mind that if its called both ways, there is still going to be controversy. More Wings players are going to be called for penalties just as there will be more Ducks called. Its controversy that I can live with though. Lets hope the NHL gives us good refs on Thursday night.

You are a much better hockey fan than 90% of the people on this forum then if you can look that deeply into a game and make those calls. Most people here just care about the W and there is very little analysis after that. But I digress..... You do a good job pointing out all the non calls on the Wings players, but you have no non calls to point out on some of the Ducks players by the Wings and to my recollection, there were a couple times where I said to myself, "Gee, that could have been called" but it wasn't. Do I believe the refs could ref more consistently? Yes, a little bit better thats for sure. I am not going to go off the deep end and say there were 20 missed calls on the Ducks and 0 on the Wings though. Thats a little disingenuous. It seems that the refs are struggling with the "call all obstruction" and "don't call anything, its playoff hockey" mentality. Which is why select calls do get missed and its no wonder why everyone here notices them when they are committed on the Wings. Take a gander at the Ducks forums and you will see they are bitching about the same damn thing, though not as much since they won the game last night.

Just like in every game 7, its going to come down to who wants it more. I believe the Wings are going to win this game and advance. If they don't, well, they will have no one to blame but themselves.
-
Its awfully easy to ref from the comfort of your own home or in the stands. Its entirely different when you are down there on the ice trying to ref a game that is going at a blistering speed. That being said, I also have to agree the reffing has been minorly inconsistant. It hasn't been this huge inconsistancy that is costing a team the game or anything thats for sure. The reffing is bad in the NHL? If there is one thing I have learned about grading the reffing, if your team loses, the refs get a F. If your team wins, the refs get a passing grade. Seems that no one is going to be happy with the reffing unless the team you root for gets 20 power plays and no penalties. The Wings fans on this board are those kinds of fans. Even then I wonder if 20 power plays would be enough for some people on this forum. The Wings played flat for 2 periods, just like in game 3 when they lost 2-1 and decided to turn it up a notch. Its amazing how successful the Wings are when they play with urgency like they did in Game 4 and Game 5. As you said, they came out to play way too late, and if they lose Game 7 the same way, they will have no one to blame but themselves. I just hope the rest of the real Wings fans will see that as well and stop copping out and blaming the refs.

Good to know.

Helm was lucky he didn't get called for leaving his feet on that one. Still, we deserve a break.
-
Wow, great defensive play by the Ducks there on that 2 on 1.
-
Meh, thats up for debate. Last I checked he didn't shoot the puck out of play.
-
The Wings are learning the same lesson that the Penguins learned last night. If you don't bring your best effort to close a team out, you will lose.
-
Ozzie is the only guy who came to play tonight.
-
Considering we haven't closed a series at home since we won the cup in 2002, I am trying to figure out the same thing.
-
Doing my part.

This is the best response to the comment that Helm's goal should be called back because Cleary was in the crease. It is truly amazing how things even themselves out in a playoff series. Yes, there are times when one team seems to get the "big break" like when the Ducks got that Game 3 win. Then, the other team gets that key goal that the other team ******* about. In the end, it all evens out.

In order to get the best deal possible, you have to order multiples since shipping costs so much. If you just want to buy a single jersey, look at Ebay. You won't get as good of a deal, but you will get one below the cost in a store.

I would rather see Leino. Lets cross that bridge when we come to it.
-
Ducks are pressing hard and outworking the Wings now. Not a good sign.
-
Crap defense. You don't let the Ducks just skate into the zone and get a free chance like that. Good fight, but Beauchemin kicked his ass.
-
Time for the Wings to step up and play hard.
