I would start Conklin over Osgood right now. No contest. Still, at the midpoint of the season, you have to give Osgood his opportunities.

I agree 100% I think that the crappy defense has more to blame for the Wings struggles than crap goaltending. Not to say that Osgood hasn't let in soft goals here and there, but unlike many of the people here, I can't totally blame the goalie and say it was all his fault. Its a team effort thats for sure.

I wasn't talking about every game, just one goal. Lets look at the comment in the context it was meant. As for me sounding self righteous, like it or not its a true statement.

Thats the difference here. I say he didn't suck on that one and it was a crappy bounce. You say he sucks because he should have stopped it. Oh, and I know because I have experienced a crappy bounce before. It happens, get over it. Its not his fault. And around and around we go.

The 3 goals that Legace has let in have all been pretty weak. Well, all except the 3rd one. That one could have been a screened shot. I will take Osgood over him any day.

As someone who has played the game, I know what its like unlike others. Just because you like to discount it, thats fine. Stay an armchair fan. Your opinion is noted. My statement still stands. All the people bitching about that first goal, IMHO, don't know what its like to have the puck bounce against them like that. Its hockey, and it happens. Even an armchair fan should see that. Unless you are a Osgood hater which it is obvious you are.

If Osgood let in a goal like the 2 goals that Legace let in, then I would be all over Osgood about it. Thats the difference between a goal that he should have had and a "oops" goal. You going to say that the two goals that Legace let in were "better quality"? Not to me.

Every goalie has crappy ice in front of him at times. The morons saying that goal was Osgoods fault and whining about it are stupid. Especially when they have no idea what it is like. If you are going to patronize my statement, you might want to spend some time patronizing others who are lambasting Osgood.

Lets speak the truth here, he isn't letting in 1-2 of those per game. I watch the games just like you do. Maybe, maybe, 1 every 3 games or so, but not 1-2 per game. Still, nice goal that Legace let in there eh? I don't see Osgood letting in those kind of goals.

That was a "crap happens" goal. Nothing more, nothing less.

Griffins lost, but it was a great game. Griffins just could not score one time on their goalie in the shootout. Howard stopped all but one. This loss wasn't anyone's fault, just a darn good game.

TSN doesn't know the details. As for this signing, I too am happy with it. 12 years is a long time. Remember when Rick Dipietro signed a 20 year deal for $4 million per? The length of that contract is huge. Still, $6 million per year is a great deal for Zet and for us.

I think the pads are pretty cool looking. As a goalie, I don't know if they would make that much of a difference, but its still cool looking.

Crap, they were both top corner shots. If I would blame him for any goal, it would be two rebound goals he gave up in the first/second period.

I hope the Wings and San Jose meet in the Conference Finals for the right to play for the cup. I think it will be an epic 6 or 7 game series and I hope Detroit comes out on top. Remember the days of the Detroit and Colorado rivalry? Those days would be done. San Jose would be the new rivalry by the time this series is done. It would be the best series we could ask for in the playoffs. Thats if San Jose doesn't choke like they have done in the playoffs before.

Well, Wings had 2 breakaway chances if you count Cleary's all alone chance in front and Datsyuk's. So 2-0 San Jose.

Especially the defense. The goaltending wasn't horrible as both goalies came up with some incredible saves. I really can't blame Osgood for the loss more than I can blame the D. You can't let guys sneak in behind the D for breakaways (Lilja) and you can't let some guy split the D when you have position to play the puck (Stuart). Two D critical mistakes at a critical time. Can't blame Osgood for crap play like that.

Uh, I don't know what broadcast you were watching, but even with a camera view and replaying it a few times, even I couldn't tell. The broadcasters said it was very close. Neither Larry or Ken couldn't say it was offside for sure or not. So, I wouldn't say it was CLEARLY offside.

Osgood made plenty of good saves tonight. Did he make some mistakes? Absolutely. However, he didn't play horrible. The loss isn't entirely on his shoulders thats for sure. I guess its comes down to perception here and we both perceive things differently. Good night!
