When the Wings lost 2-1 at the Joe against Dallas, Holmstrom was bitching about that game too. Point is that the losing team is ALWAYS going to find a way to ***** about the reffing or the calls. Doesn't matter if its a game changing play or not.
-
There are players on both teams that wouldn't complain. Lets break it down simply here from what we have seen so far... Crosby will ***** Therien will ***** Holmstrom will ***** Babcock will ***** Tippet will ***** Morrow will ***** Lindstrom won't ***** because he is a veteran and a true leader. Another thing though, I haven't seen Lindstrom up on the podium to answer press questions yet. Would be nice to see him do that before I pass glowing judgment on him.

If I am not mistaken, the game they lost in Dallas when Homer was called for goalie interference caused the Wings coaching staff and players to ***** up a storm. Complaining on the reffing is ALWAYS going to be done by the losing team. Its been going on since I started watching and covering press conferences from college on up to the pros.
-
I will say it before and I will say it again.... The team that wins the game will not comment on the reffing or calls. The team that loses will complain they didn't get enough calls. Therien and Crosby both are answering the questions from the press on the reffing and complaining about lack of calls. The Wings won't comment on those kinds of questions.

Maybe I am biased cause I am a goalie, but you have to give the goalie 1st star in the case of a shutout....if not 2 in a row.
-
That is the best exchange in a press conference so far this season.
-
Just the way they peppered Irbe. Blowing a team out in hockey 6-0 and winning a game 1-0 in 3OTs really doesn't matter if you have 60+ shots on net, are having pinpoint passing, and so on. IMHO, incredible domination in hockey has nothing to do with the score. It has to do with the amount of chances you have, shots you have, faceoffs you win, hits you have, and so on.
-
Uh, DUH. Thats not even debatable if you have been watching the playoff Wings hockey. I am not complaining because I am a Wings fan. If the refs call it, I won't ***** thats for sure.
-
Its always easier to remember what just happened. I pulled out my Stanley Cup finals DVDs that I made of all the games back in 2002-2003, and the finals against Carolina were like this. The OT game where Larinov scored was incredible domination.

A great game by the Wings. I am disappointed with the attitude and demeanor of the Penguins though, but oh well. We won. As other people have said, you don't face adversity until you lose on home ice. Detroit took the leg out from under the Penguins, now they have to lean on them and take game 3 or 4 thats for sure. Would be nice if they took both and lifted the cup on the road. Hell, they have won every series on the road this playoff run, so it wouldn't surprise me.
-
After that last exchange, Detroit.
-
I would rather win with team class than win while being a cheap shot ****** team. Nay.
-
I have seen much worse. Looking at the replay, it looked like Mule tried to draw something.
-
Well, Filppula is producing. Give him some love. I know someone here was critical of him. Please stand up and apologize. 3-0
-
haha, bulls***! Good call on Drake. Just like a good call on Malone for goalie interference.
-
Yea, I can't either. If you don't play hockey with a certain amount of intensity, then you aren't going to be effective. Dats sticking up for Zets I can't fault on further review.
-
And it is, but they are taking Dats as well for not keeping his cool.
-
Our team isn't looking too sharp. Feels too much like they are holding on to protect a 2 goal lead.
-
Hossa's free hand grabbed on. Thats a no brainer call.
-
Good call on Hossa. PP Detroit.
-
Matt, your avatar rocks. I also agree with your analysis.
-
IMHO, they are doing that. There is no bias and I have been watching all game. As I said before, a lot of Wings fans here are suffering from selective hearing. Either that or they want to hear "The Red Wings Network". Kinda like the republicans prefering to hear Fox News and claiming that all other networks are biased.
-
More selective hearing?
-
You obviously have never played hockey.
-
Yea, cause we all know that all Red Wings should play zero mistake hockey.
