I want the Wings to get that 3rd goal. They are 16-0-2 when they score 3 or more goals this season.

Did you make the same predictions back then? Was probably easier for you to predict losses and no goals in the 3rd period when the Wings sucked. On the flip side, did you make the same predictions when the Wings iced one of the best teams in 2002-2003?

Actually, you said..... You gave up on the Wings season, Slappy. Nice to see you come back though. I think its early to say that either player has maxed out their potential. This is Smith's first full abbreviated season. I am going to wait a couple years to see how both these players pan out.

Its early. Part of being a franchise player is playing day in and day out as a franchise player. DeKeyser has played 10 games. Kinda hard to anoint him as the franchise D man. Maybe if he is playing like this for the next 2-3 years, then I will believe you.

Nyquist is playing really well. I love his playmaking abilities.

These passes by the Wings are really crappy at times. I think they are playing very well, but that one bad pass just kills the offensive opportunities and then forces them back on D.

If you mean the non-biased announcers, you would be correct. Don't get me wrong, I love Ken and Mick, but there is zero tolerance for any kind of announcing that doesn't constantly kiss the ass of the Red Wings around here.

I believe it comes down to not the "willingness" to reload but the "ability" to reload. The salary cap has prevented the Wings from doing that like they have in the past. Oh, and if you think the past 3 years have been "unbearable", just wait. Its going to get worse before it gets better.

Just based on the armchair GMs here in this forum, I would rather have Kenny at the helm than anyone here or a vast majority of the GMs out there in the field today for that matter. Every GM makes mistakes. No GM can tell the future.

In the new salary cap era, Kenny doesn't have room to just buy goal scorers at 10 million a season. They made plays for Suter and Parise, but both those guys went to Minnesota. So they got plugs this season and they have to build through the draft, which is going to take time. I bet they make a play for a elite player next season, but who knows how that is going to go. Wings fans who have been spoiled over the last 20+ years of success are in for a rude awakening. The best thing we can do now is to support our team the way it is. Its going to get worse as time goes on thats for sure. Dats and Zetterberg are in decline, and no elite players are in the wings right now to take over for their production. Prepare for a rebuild and it won't be without pain.

I have been to roughly half the games this season, and they have done really well this year. The last couple years, Kurt Frasier didn't push this team. Which is why they had good talent but never made the playoffs. This year, Blashill has really changed the team for the better. The biggest issue is depth, but that is because players like Lashoff, Nyquist, and so on are going up with the big club. Overall, I would say that you answered your own question. You have been to two games and they haven't played very well both days apparently. At the same time though, they lead their division because they have played well overall. The big test will be playoff time.

I remember seeing the Cold War at MSU back in the day. What a great environment to see a game in. It was damn cold outside and the atmosphere was electric. Well worth seeing that game that is for sure. I have been to the second cold war game at Michigan and that was a little less exciting. Still, it was worth going to. I am just fine with the NHL putting on 6 outdoor games a year. Risky? Yes. The tickets will sell out though. Just as they sold out for MSU vrs Michigan. Just like they sold out for the Heritage Classic in Canada. The novelty will always be there, and when it isn't, they will stop playing games outdoors.
