Nightfall

I know I want to go to this event, but there is part of me wondering how hard I should work to get tickets. I am going to have a great view from my 52 inch HDTV here at home. I am sure the atmosphere is worth going to. Hell, I went to the Cold War back in 2001 and that was worth going to. In the end, I am going to work hard for tickets, but I am not going to lose sleep over not getting them. Sitting up in the cheap seats and not having a great view of the game is making my TV look like a better option.

I wonder if MacDonald is going to be the new backup.

With as many chances as the Wings have missed on in this game, the fault will NOT fall with MacDonald if they lose this game.

Maybe we should be looking to trade for Sam Gagner at the trade deadline.

If the Islanders are hanging around the playoff picture, they won't trade Nabby. Think about it, why trade Nabby if you are on the cusp of making the playoffs? They will make more money if they make the playoffs than they would if they traded Nabby. Even if the Islanders traded him, they are going to want something for him. I wouldn't trade a top prospect for him, but based on his numbers this season so far, he could demand a 1st round pick. I think thats too steep for a backup goalie. Joey Mac has played solid the last two games. I say keep giving him starts. Hell, if the Wings would score more than 1 goal, then they could win some games.

People said the same thing about Yzerman retiring, Shanny leaving, Fedorov leaving, and so on. This team goes far beyond Lids. When he retires, the Wings will reload. They always do. I have to agree and say not to trade prospects for a 42 year old rental. Its just not worth one shot at the cup for a player that could provide top scoring talent for the Wings for many years to come.

Maybe we can trade 1/2 our road games for home games.

That game was total crap. Wings did not play well and deserved to lose. Smith played a great game in a 3-1 win. Joey did his part. The team in front of him played like ass. Shake it off, play better on Wednesday.

I wouldn't say that. A fluke bounce for the tying goal and a loss in 6 rounds of a shootout is hardly "giving a point away".
