Franzen can't score on a truck. Seriously, I don't know. I would have went with Franzen instead as well.
-
You would think you would have learned your lesson after the last Dorkstradamos prediction you gave.
-
Wow, what a freak bounce. I guess Edmonton was due.
-
The Todd! Wow, what a freaking goal.
-
Dorkstradamous speaks again.
-
Happy Hudler! Man, I sure am glad that we listened to those Hudler haters and traded our second place scorer in goals so far this season. /sarcasm
-
This was worse than Michigan State. I think that the timekeeper's head is going to roll. If it was a mistake, then the timekeeper should have said it was. If he did, and the refs and the league didn't listen to him, then thats even worse.

Check page 2 in this thread. There are a pair of youtube links.

True, I am just saying that even if it was up the whole game, we would have only seen 10-12 pages in the win. If it was a loss, we would have seen 16-18. Thats the MO here. You should know that by now.
-
Yup, I agree. It was worse than Devil's hockey back in the day. Fixed it for you.

Calgary played more defensive and conservative than the Blues. There were less scrums in front of the net and so on. It was one of those games where one team was trying to slow it down (Calgary) while the other was trying to dictate the play (Wings).
-
Hudler now 2nd on the team in goals. I know that makes the Hudler haters unhappy, but I thought I would point it out.
-
I thought they played fine. Last year, they would probably have won this game 5-3. Tonight, they won 3-1 thanks to the better focus on defense and Howard playing solid.

Who Could be Dealt at the Deadline?

Makes me glad Ken Holland is in charge. -
Based on the last NHL strike, you will excuse me if I don't share your optimism. The NBA didn't lose an entire season like the NHL did and there are a lot of things that could be potential snags in the negotiation this year. I am a glass half full kind of guy, and I think there is a good chance that they get things settled before the season starts. At the same time though, I am not holding my breath.

They can afford to sit this one out because there are other options coming as well. You have to keep in mind its a two way street. The Wings want players like this but some players want to play for the Wings and will wait. I don't think that trading for Suter is a good idea because we will blow prospects on a possible rental that we may not be able to sign. Hell, I don't think that signing Suter before the new CBA is in place is a good idea.
-
Thats where the problem is. Detroit won't pay through the nose to get him. If Suter is willing to take less than market value, he will be in a Wings jersey. If not, he can cash in with Anaheim or some other team willing to spend 6-7 million a season.
-
We will see if he will take a discount to play with the Wings or if he will cash in with another team. I can only hope he is willing to take less to play for Detroit.
-
He only scored 24 in 80 games last year. So, if you think about it, he is only 5-6 goals off pace. Not a huge number at all.
-
9 goals 26 assists 35 points A team leading 152 shots Is Z struggling? Maybe. I think he is more frustrated thats for sure. Last year he had over 300 shots in 80 games and scored 24 goals with 80 points. I am not disappointed with Z. He is going through a rough patch right now and I will continue to support him. He is going to turn things around on the scoring side. If not, he is still one of the best players on the team. Keep the faith!

For those of you who are hockey fans, the Patrice Bergeron NHL 36 episode is worth watching as well. What a great series on the NBC Sports Network.

Just chock this up to a bad game. After a long win streak, it was bound to happen. I am disappointed with the effort and the loss tonight, but putting the game into perspective, it is just a single game. They will get yelled at for this crap effort and come back strong after the break.
-
Did someone call?
-
I am actually agreeing with Milbury and Jones. What a pathetic period by the Wings. Babcock was disgusted. Its apparent that the Wings got started on their all star break early. If the Wings have any pride, they will pick it up for the rest of the game.
-
They are lazy without him. Just like when Dats sat a few weeks ago. No excuses for lazy ass play.
