Nice win. Very, very, very happy with the way this road trip ended. Lots of positives despite all the negatives. We answered quickly when we went down 1-0, we held the lead through the third, held the opposing team to one goal, lots of young guys stepping up and looking good. Really, really happy. I think this is the start of what will be a great November. October's officially over. I always like November better anyways.

Holmstrom takes more abuse than any player in the league and has done so for years. There's a reason why he has CONSISTENTLY started strong and ended poorly the last few years. He's getting up there in age and the human body can only take so much abuse. Sorry to rain on your irrational parade, but reality is what it is.

I think with all the opportunities opening up, you've got guys working even harder to prove themselves and get quality ice time. The guys who really step up and make a splash are going to get a lot of ice time. You don't have anyone really locked into a spot right now. I really think we're going to go on a winning streak here moving forward. I think we'll eventually still have to make moves to tighten things up for the stretch, but I think we're going to be fine for awhile. I'm not at all thinking "TRADE TRADE TRADE" like some. I want to see what this team can do. I still think they've got it in them to make a lot of good things happen and win games.

Yeah, I'm not complaining about it at all! But if he stays consistent and finishes this year again too injured to contribute points, it's time for him to go.

But the third's a test. They've had lots of games with a solid first 40-50 minutes only to fall apart in the end. They need to keep the hustle going to the end.

Osgood's learning. He's gotten a few of those behind the net penalty's the last few years. That rule hurts him quite a bit as he's always been good with his stick. Way to hold them off at the end Wings. Great 2nd period! Now time to finish them in the 3rd. Grow, progress. Hold the lead.

I'm not trying to be negative, but this wouldn't be the first time Holmstrom has a great start. HIs problem isn't scoring points, it's staying healthy. Who cares if he can do it in October if he can't do it in April because his knees won't hold up? I hope he stays healthy as I've always loved the guy and we need him more than ever this year, but a fast start for Holmstrom means nothing in the long run. It's all about health and durability with him.

Matt Roloff is an odd duck.

They've produced almost as well as our scoring lines! They play better defensively. There's nothing flashy but they're always out their working hard and getting gritty. Draper's looked better so far this year compared to the last couple as has Maltby. Maltby I feel like flipped a bit of a switch last March or so as he's looked more like his pre-lockout self now for awhile. I just really like what they've been so far this year.

I'm liking that we're at least putting good pressure on these guys. I can't say it enough, I'm not near as upset over or scared about this team. I think they've been doing a lot of things right and certainly some things wrong, but it's early and I've got a lot more positives all things considered. I didn't expect them to come out and go 10-2. This is a good team.

I think proportional to expectations, our checking line has been our best so far this season.

Man, I'd like a goal soon...
