And there it is....wow...
-
I'm thinking Stuarts more injured than we know...just a general random comment...
-
No one can realistically say that Hasek is playing outright bad, but he really isn't playing outright well either. If he gives up another goal or two Osgood will be in and if we end up losing or, well, give up another goal or two, I think there's a chance Osgood will start Game 5. Sure, I'll give you that Hasek hasn't played really bad, but again he hasn't played that well and some pretty significant problems can be linked to Dom and his sv.% is pretty sad considering how many shots we allow. It'd be the wise thing to do just to shake things up. But it won't be because Hasek just blatantly sucked. He hasn't. I'm not happy with him, but he hasn't sucked. But sorry, average isn't going to cut it in the playoffs especially with 4 of these 2-goal flurries in 3 games.
-
I love how you always set up your excuses for Dom's play well in advance in a not so cleverly veiled manner.
-
I just listened back to the call a few times, I think definitely dropped an F bomb with the mic on but the rest is pretty unintelligable... "Get the f*** (in there?)!" Good stuff...
-
Man, I thought that was going to be a 4...damn...McCreary, umm, kinda spazzed...
-
I think I concur in a lot of ways. He's definitely looked good thus far. He's had jump since the first shift of game 1. So we got one guy playing playoff hockey. Good stuff.
-
Damn, close enough for you?
-
No, it's called one minute left and down by one smartass.
-
Time to capitalize right now. Now would be a very, very good time to make an impact. They better at least have Nashville on their heals. Hell, I'll call tha a successful power play at this point...
-
We don't have holes if you think potential. We have huge holes in our play thus far in games 1-4 not to mention the last two months of the season.
-
3-4-3 in the first 3 games. For playoffs, that's hardly horrible. There were years where we scored 6 goals in 4 games where you could complain about scoring and be a bit more justified. This one's still early. I don't have a huge beef with our forwards honestly in this series. Quite frankly, I'm far more tired of hearing "almost" and "ooooh, sooooo close" about our D and Hasek...
-
You can't bring Osgood in yet. Not like Hasek did horrible and it's two goals. Another one and Hasek's done if only for the sake of shaking things up.
-
Maybe all you crazy people with your rosy glasses will wake up and smell reality now, eh? SO MANY HOLES IN THIS TEAM RIGHT NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
The bounce goes there way in OT last night and they've up 3-1...man...I'm thinking the Av's are for real...they're just looking good and Theodore's shutting the door quite well thus far for them. Solid game last night and he's locking it down tonight. I'm thinking Avs in 6 now...
-
Sure. But there's 3 more series on way to the Cup. They're not getting past the 2nd if they ice the team they've played the last 3 games, that is, if they play in a similar manner. Nashville doesn't matter. It's totally negligible. This is about holes that will be wildly exploited by a good team in Round 2 if they don't get worked out. I love how people are so content with close games against the Predators as if they've even played great playoff hockey against us let alone the fact that they're just not that good of a team. Like, yay, we beat Nashville! That's like hitting a home run in a little league field.
-
No joke. I forgot how fun this was. Screw my theory project! This is way better! And I want to party with Mark Messier and the Cup!
-
Nice. I kinda want Calgary in Round 2 even though they scare me. Everyone seems scary right now. But the thought of a Colorado-Detroit WCF is just too good.......I think it'll be a rough Round 2 to get there, but if we can pull it off and I honestly think Colorado will, it'll be a really great series, one for the books. Then 7 games against Pittsburgh in a tossup. If you ask me...
-
Wow... And just incase you guys were wondering, Crosby doesn't stop...
-
Sharks and Flames are all tied up at 1...
-
Minnesota's gotta be pretty pissed that they haven't scored at least one yet. They're better than this...but I think the Av's will pull out this series...
-
I'm hardly a Lilja hater. I think he's capable of a lot more and I think a game off with Lebda wouldn't hurt us as a team and might help get Lilja a little pissed to come back strong in game 5. I think he just needs a reminder of sorts...nothing permanent and nothing "hate" oriented. Getting Lebda some time wouldn't hurt either incase we need him down the stretch due to injury.

I have so much homework and practicing to do yet I've spent hours now trying to balance listening and watching way too many games!!! Bad news! But Dallas/Anaheim...not sure what to say. Couldn't watch, just listened some and followed. Dallas got it going at the end which is good news if you hate the Ducks. I guess I'm just not convinced this isn't a fluke on behalf of the Ducks. They have serious scoring issues. There's no way they were going to get swept though. Game 4 will be an interesting 1. I'll be a lot more scared of the Ducks if they do come out of this series... Meanwhile, I don't know what scares me more...the Sharks or a Calgary Flames team that just beat the Sharks...

If the Wings played even close to their potential they'd be slaughtering the Preds. And by slaughter I don't mean 9-0, but 4-1, 5-1 games shouldn't be unusual on the way to a sweep. It's not even so much that we're that great, the Predators haven't even played that well! They're the weakest 8th seed team the playoffs have seen in recent memory. Their defense has been weak. Their offense has been weak. Their saving grace is their goalie and even he hasn't played as well as he did to get them into the playoffs. And I'm not just saying this because we lost one. I've been saying this since game 1. I'm not saying we suck, but based on our guys, we've got the potential to go all the way. We're simply not even remotely living up to that potential right now. It's fine against Nashville, but they need to get some things straight before they play someone else or like I said, they'll get lit up. Hasek and our D won't know what hit them.

Osgood certainly didn't look as sharp in the second half as he did in the first. I absolutely agree. In the first half he rose above the mediocre play of the team and won games they shouldn't have. You didn't see that so much in the second half. A couple blatant stinker games for sure on his back. But, at the same time, and even I didn't give him this at first as I ragged on him through it, a lot of the games where he got hammered almost half our freaking team was injured. I mean, remember those games where Lebda and Lilja were our top two defensemen while the Griffins defense squad filled out the other spots, plus injuries up front and a general team slump. I'm not saying he couldn't have played better at all because he could've like he did earlier on, but that's a lot going against him and you have to consider it. Hasek was conveniently injured for much of this time as well if you remember...
