He was? He gave up the lead on back to back goals and got saved by the post twice shortly thereafter that would've given them the lead. After that, he had to do very little. He had a solid first period, I'll give you that, but, you know, why do I even bother with you. You're not rational. Never mind.
-
Give me one example of him doing that this year.
-
Fine, then don't you dare suggest that he played "great" and don't even think "Dominator."
-
Just a reminder, we are playing the Nashville Predators. A really lousy team. We will still beat them, probably in 5. But then we actually have to play good teams and we have some serious, serious flaws to work out.
-
Rightfully so now more than ever. He's been lauded as "great" when he's been average at best all year continuing into these playoffs and he's crumbled under pressure now 3 times in two games. If you have no defense at all there is simply no excuse for that. None at all. I've been saying all year that I don't trust Dom like I used to with a lead. How many times does this breakdown stuff have to happen all year and in the playoffs before people wake up and realize this guy is average at best which is still saying a lot at 43, but none the less, he is average at best at this point in his career.
-
So all that stuff I've been worried about with Hasek............
-
Very bad.
-
Do we know for sure it was really his finger? He could be hesitant to hold onto the puck long if he's having hand issues too. In any event, this is another reason why I want a sweep. Hurt or not, it'd be good for some guys to get some rest and regain some composure if need be.

Wow. Let's hope you're right. Couldn't have come at a better time but we're not out of this one yet...

1st goal, weak sauce but like I've always said, I give goalies their 1 weak goal a game 2nd goal, can't really fault him Then the post saves his butt. Does that mean he's playing bad? Absolutely not. He's been mostly fine but it's quite a stretch to say "great" let alone bring up any talk of "The Dominator." As I've said about both goalies down the stretch, it's fine that you can't always fault goalies so much for certain goals. Sure, fine, whatever. That is, if you're content with being average. In the playoffs more than ever, you need your goalies to be great and stop those ones that they shouldn't. This is the same stuff that's plagued him and Osgood down the stretch and when we actually start playing teams that can score, it could be the breaking point.

Who's worried about Nashville? We'll obviously still win this series if not the game. Like I said, it's when we actually have to play a good team playing playoff hockey that I'm worried about.
-
They didn't, we've just been lucky. If you're not a homer, there's not too much to get really excited about. Nashville is easily the worst team in the playoffs sans Ottawa maybe. They haven't played consistently strong hockey in this series either. These shouldn't be close games but they are because we haven't played that well. Not incredibly bad, but not too well and like I've been harping on like a whiny ***** for months now, we're giving up our leads and letting them back in it and at a fast and furious pace at that. Weak sauce. Both of these games now we've given up two quick goals and Hasek's been beaten and then saved by the post on what would be go-ahead goals. If those were goals instead, it's probably 1-1 and we're losing right now on their ice. Again, this is the Nashville Predators we're playing. The team we're playing because their goalie refused to give up any goals for 50 billion minutes. And Ellis hasn't even been "amazing." As said, we'll win this series and I'm hardly convinced that we'll lose this game. I think we could and then win game 4 for the sweep. But if we play like this against any other team moving forward, we're done for all the reasons that plagued us as the season went on. The offense needs to start working a lot harder, Hasek needs to learn the difference between the "Averaginator" and the "Dominator," and they desperately need to cut the defensive breakdowns the second the other team gets a little momentum.
-
I'm not worried about beating Nashville in this series or even in this game. But these bad habits are positively frightening against any other team moving forward. And the post saves Hasek again...those guys are on our side at least...

Sometimes I hate being right...
-
There it is...
-
So much for tight...
-
Now's the time to not give up another quick goal. Tight tight tight!!!
-
Wow. Hudler's actually producing lately. I'm shocked. Either that or I'm dreaming...
-
I ain't saying he played bad at all, but he hasn't exactly been tested much thus far. Pretty basic stuff and he bobbled one at that. Nashville's not exactly a scoring machine after all... And for that matter, I wouldn't say this was the most successful period for the Wings in general. We took some stupid penalties too and had some shaky plays. I'm betting Nashville's going to come out hard in the 2nd and it's going to take a better effort than that of the 1st to keep up. This is make it or break it for the Preds. They're down by 1 with two periods left and if they win, they're back in the series with the next game at home plus momentum. I don't think these next two periods will be easy at all. Then again, if we get another goal early, I may change my mind...

I just watched it a few times, you've gotta give it to Hartigan. Fiddler put the breaks on in plenty of time but was shoved off balance by Hartigan.
-
I watched that save a couple minutes ago over and over because it almost looked like it went in. A black stick blade flashed behind Dom real quick right at the moment the shot was fired and it kept throwing me. Focus on puck, focus on stick...which is which!?! But in the end he just shot it right into Dom's chest...I need slow-mo on my DVR...
-
Another goal here would be really nice. I've got this funny feeling that Nashville's going to come out like mad in the second if they're just down by 1...
-
Nice Draper! Nice! Considering he had such a horrible playoffs last year, I'm not surprised a battler like him is coming back with a strong start this year.

Yikes...

For Comcast, what's the HD channel for this game? We haven't signed up but my neighbors aren't either and they've been getting way more HD content than they should with their ATSC tuner despite the fact that they're just paying for analog service and don't have the Comcast Digital Cable box. But you gotta enter the channels manually, so, any help?
