I said numerous times throughout the game that Datsyuk doesn't look near 100%. And I've said on these boards too many times that you can only expect so much out of Z at this point. I don't think for a second he's not giving his all. He might not be the force he was, but he's still an important player. We just have to adjust our expectations of how he's contributing.

Kronwall's had to change his game in the post-Lidstrom era and it just doesn't fit him, and E should just be gone. I've said it for ages. He might not be quite as bad as some of us make him out to be at times, but at the end of the day, he too often just doesn't have what it takes. It's the principle of the matter more than anything at this point to me. We hang on to guys like him and we're less inclined to do what we need to do to really make this defense better.

Best news of the night at this point. I don't believe we'd stand a chance without him. He's too important to shutting down their offense at this point. If he was out, I was throwing in the towel on this series. We might still have a fighting chance now.

My TV is psychologically traumatized after tonight.

Yeah, it's not altogether shocking. It's frustrating as a fan, but I don't really hold it against them. It's a tough game, that playoff hockey... I'm very good at terrifying my friends with my playoff hockey intensity.

This is going to be a tougher game no doubt, but I think some of our kids are starting to show signs of waking from their playoff slumbers. Abby will be better tonight. Mrazek will have to be big again. It's all very doable though.

Agree. I think Mrazek is locking down the starter role right now moving forward, and I think it's very possible that Howard could get moved this summer. But there's no bad guys here. Howard isn't a terrible goalie. He's not an *******. We're just lucky to have a guy like Mrazek coming up who's pretty damn good, and he's making the most of this huge opportunity. It's a rough deal for Howard. I'm happy for Mrazek, I think he's proving why he's the future starter for this team. But I genuinely feel bad for Howard. Again, he's a good goalie who's had some tough luck. If we move him, I wish him all the best.
