Two RFA's and a UFA next year who will surely bolt for a 25 year old stud defenseman. There's no way you're getting Yandle, Nash, or Ryan without at least including one of Smith/Nyquist. These teams aren't going to give away their franchise players for scraps, guys.

Absolute nonsense. The guys on 97.1 generally have no clue what they're talking about, especially when it comes to hockey. Terry Foster repeatedly caled Suter Sutter the other day. He sounds like a complete moron when he tries to talk sports period, let alone hockey. I'm pretty sure I saw an NHL player poll last year that asked players which coaches they would most like to play for and Babcock was either second or third (I think second). These guys wanted to go home, simple as that. Not much the Wings could do outside of offer more money, which would have been stupid (they're both already grossly overpaid IMO).

I'd really like to see them make a push for Nash if they lose out on Parise. Semin/Doan + Nash would be my dream offseason (along with Suter, obviously).

If the rumor about Suter agreeing is true (likely, IMO) and Parise comes over (unlikely, but whatver), this team will be stacked. A little weak on defense, but incredibly fun to watch.

Not at all. Remeber when the Wings signed Hossa? They weren't even really discussed as a possibility. Everyone here was hoping for Brian Roston and we ended up with Hossa. If there's one thing that I've learned over the years it's to never count the Wings out when they're open about the fact that they're going to be aggressive in the FA and trade market. Nobody really has a friggin clue where these guys are going to sign.

That's what I'm hoping for as well. I would love to see what Columbus would want from the Wings though. I can't see a trade that doesn't involve both Fil and Franzen, and probably Smith. A core of Datsyuk, Zetterberg, Nash, Semin, Kronwall and Suter would be amazing.

I think Leaf fans could damn near sell the place out alone, honestly. They won't, but that fanbase is crazy enough that 110,000 Leaf fans probably wouldn't hesitate to cross the boarder for this game.

Honestly, why wasn't he sitting before the playoffs to get healthy? Makes no sense. Cleary's one of my favorite players when healthy, but he's been painful to watch for the last few months. Love the heart, but come on, man...

The Blues definitely aren't the best team in the league, but it was a good win. Special teams need A LOT of work, or Nashville will kill this team.

The Blues are a hell of a team, no doubt about it. Having said that, if the Wings were to play them in the playoffs, I would be pretty confident (assuming the Wings show up). The absolute dream scenario for me would be Dallas in the first round, St. Louis in the second. The way they're playing right now though, they'd get swept by Edmonton.

This isn't even a playoff team without Datsyuk.

Is there a coach who's been owned more by the Wings than Wilson? Quenneville, maybe?
