Wondering how bad Whitney gets in trouble for this one. Comments are all over the board

https://records.nhl.com/franchises/tampa-bay-lightning/season-by-season-record I don't think Tampa was on decline in 2010 as they went to the conf finals that year. I believe Yzerguy came back to Det in 2019 right after TB lost in R1. TB then went to 3 finals in a row as the Wings bottomed out with a big thud with resounding draft luck!! TB has lost in R1 last 2 years so some cracks might be showing in their core etc. Dependent on what's in the cupboard will determine how fast they comeback. Might be a Boston type situation where they plug holes with younger guys who learn the culture while the older guys phase out. After the 2009 finals lose we should have started to manage picks better and we could have probably avoided this playoff drought. Saying "We made the playoffs 25 years in a row" gets me a "shut up and sit down old man" comment from fans of other teams. But then again we could be the Sabres or Leafs so I take comfort in that thought.

Pens seems to like picking up our castoffs... https://www.nhl.com/penguins/news/penguins-sign-goaltender-filip-larsson-to-a-two-year-contract?utm_source=social&utm_medium=x -
IF our older bad defense cant be taught a new trick by now i.e. clear the zone. I would prefer to have younger guys learn as they have more runway to correct said mistakes.

"hockey sense" vs "educational sense"

I would have thought Toronto being the center of the hockey universe(insert sarcasm here). That the citizens would have been burning the town after the last couple years. Yet their hope for a better house using the same tools that failed is amazing. Is Shanny finally on the hotseat?

per this article https://www.nhl.com/redwings/news/red-wings-sign-defenseman-andrew-gibson-to-three-year-entry-level-contract not sure what the bolded below from article means. But i am sure someone here knows. My guess/assumption based on his practices etc he gets to play in GR next year? DETROIT – The Detroit Red Wings today signed defenseman Andrew Gibson to a three-year, entry-level contract beginning with the 2024-25 season. Gibson will report to the American Hockey League’s Grand Rapids Griffins on an amateur tryout for the remainder of the 2023-24 season.

I think In their prime Probie/Joey/Domi/Brashear would be hard pressed fighting this kid. Dude is HUGE and has the attitude of willing to do what it takes. I would love if he was wearing the Winged Wheel as he is a HUGE flyswatter for the stars less liberties taken with Larkin with this dog on the bench.

Core 4 doing the job of getting early tee times https://theleafsnation.com/news/friedman-this-is-end-core-4-if-leafs-dont-pull-off-comeback?utm_source=ajaxpickering.ca&utm_medium=twitter

maaaybe a tic late but keep your head up. Not like a guy that big coming at you isn't noticeable. I think Rempe got a penalty for that hit but it was a minor. Big boys make big collisions happen.

Don't think Mammoth(pre cursor to elephant) is too close to the Saber tooth tiger(predators). Plus Predators could be the Predator from the movies. Utah's nickname is the beehive state. The state animal is Elk, state bird is the Gull lots of yuck there. Based on this article https://everydaywanderer.com/what-is-utah-famous-for Zamboni - The magical machine that turns scratched-up ice into a smooth skating surface was invented in Utah. Given the state’s affinity for winter sports, from ice hockey to figure skating, it’s no surprise that such an invention would come from a place where ice is a canvas for athletic artistry. just read this which is kind interesting https://www.thehockeybeast.com/nhl/wayne-gretzky-shares-the-most-awesome-story-about-what-brad-marchand-did-last-summer-he-even-calls-it-one-of-the-great-stories-hes-ever-heard-in-hockey/?fbclid=IwZXh0bgNhZW0CMTAAAR18ACz-BjBui0JBc6XVyWvlXRX1NlFGkyMWmnItCcMCYmvY80ECwD2o6ko_aem_AZUDszEqwFw8yGYMU5MY3_ZR2JGiQyexJM50_Y1w6hpJhu8B080piOHboWuRQI5wKBQHC_fUFhw2IvSYPMktYVyD From the article if you don't want to read or can't read "One of the great stories I’ve ever heard in hockey, and there are so many good stories because there are so many great people in it,” Gretzky said. ”But I was told by a friend that he went to training camp last year with the rookies for five days and practiced with them to teach them how to be a pro and what it’s like to be a Boston Bruin.”

I have to agree with you despite the pain in doing so(still smarting over my potential divorce with Kane) I think the Bruins have a very strong leader in Marchand who learned with Bergeron like we used to have here. I am guessing if you step out of line he isn't afraid to correct your course. Yzerguy for 20 years taught what it was to be a Wing. Who would dare not give full effort when you watched him play through injuries etc. You were corrected if you didn't do it the "Red Wing Way" to Nick for 6 years team still strong still same culture to Hank for 6 years team starting to tilt down and not a lot of young blood coming in to learn the "Red Wing Way" imports(FA) more than folks driving down 96 from GR. to Larkin for the last 4 years team in garbage can needing to relearn the way hence the Perons/Kanes etc to mentor Larkin and teach the young ones coming up Has Larkin become a Marchand kind of presence now? He has had a glimpse on what is needed can he force the team to comply? He seemed IMHO to grow this year. We also had Scotty and Babs who both didn't give AF about being your buddy call it old school. Versus Blash and Festers which seem to be wanting to be buddies new school.

Marchand is delivering He is drilling anything on the ice not a Bruin which is inspiring the team to do the same. He is doing the normal Marchand activities to throw you off your game Involved with Bert on the winning goal in which was borderline penalty time Dug in at end when he missed the open net. Came out with puck for the slam dunk on the empty net. If you were paying attention that very nice looking older lady behind on the glass was flipping him off. Thats when you KNOW you are under EVERYONE'S skin when old ladies are shooting ya the bird. I think Marchand is stealing Toronto's soul and they are doomed

I would be happy with this roster going into the playoffs...or worlds
