In a weird way I kind of respect his decision as the contract he signed didn't allow cash strapped teams a shot. He could do a 1 yr 500K prove it contract and maybe come out of the hole. Betting on himself big time much like Bert is in Toronto...except Bert actually has a solid contract

The good news if he walks we have no penalty and we gain back some dollars on the cap!! I jdon't understand the thinking here. The dude has a gig we all would die to have and he is willing to be a big baby. Basically saying if I don't stay in Detroit I won't go prove myself in GR and force the Wings to see how good I am. He had to have some idea that he needed to show up in a big way this season so is he just lazy and doesn't want to put in the work like Ras did?
