Trade Legwand to Detroit for Eaves, Jarnkrok + cond 3rd/2nd
mackel replied to gcom007's topic in General
When I was watching the trade deadline coverage on TSN, Bob MacKenzie said as clear as day that the Red Wings felt Jarnkrok wouldn't play for the organization. He wanted big time minutes in the big league, that wasn't going to happen with the Wings so he wanted out. We traded a player who might be good, but who didn't want to play here. It's that simple no need for all the dramatics. -

I read somewhere today that Vancouver wanted nyquist, Tatar, mantha and our 1st in 2014 for Kessler. I don't have the "source" at hand but that was said to be the ask for him. -
I was gonna call BS on this, but it's also on the TSN.ca website. How bad is that trade at the draft looking now. No Schneider no Luongo.

When is the new arena scheduled to open? 201?

See the word "GROIN" mentioned 1000x above.

gdt 12/21 GDT: Red Wings 5 @ Maple Leafs 4 (SO, yes, SO)

It's a Canadian, specifically a Leafs broadcast... Get over yourself. The Red Wings broadcasts are biased I don't see you complaining about that. -

The CBC has broadcast teams that tend to cover one or two teams rather than them all. Interesting reply though, my point is simple the CBC is no more biased than any broadcast crew. But a lot of folks around here seem to think other broadcast crews should gush all over their Red Wings, which is simply foolish. -

I'm really confused as to why LGWers hate the CBC abnouncers so much... They call a great game, every bit as good as Ken and Mick. However, they focus more on the Canadian team than the wings. Which is to be expected since that's the market they are catering to. And by the way it's exactly what Ken and Mick do, the only difference... You don't notice them preaching cause you're in the choir. -
Great Cleary scored. I'm sure he'll have a contract extension waiting in his stall after the game.
-
Jokes aside it seems like we have an issue with injuries. Training and preventative maintenance with injuries is as likely a place for improvement my as adding a goon to the squad.
-
I wonder if our training staff is part of the problem. Some of the injuries are obviously not related to them but with the trend of the last few years I'm starting to wonder if they need to be looked at.

This team needs a serious shake up... A trade is a must too many players are way to comfortable here. They seem to think its acceptable to mail it in every night. I don't even care if we "win" the trade. Just move someone to send a message!
-
How about this... Trading Howard to the islanders for Vanek (conditional on assigning an extension). Resign Gus for 2-3 years and platoon him and Mraz 60-40, 50-50, 40-60 to ease Mraz into the league.
-
What's the over/under we'll use this new cap room to resign our dead weight... ala Quincey, Cleary, Sammy, Bert, etc
-
[quote name="Opie" post="2460178" timestamp="13860 This is the same Dan Cleary that was one of the top point getters last post season! To borrow a financial term for cleary's playoffs it was the ole "dead cat bounce" Eaves, Tootoo, Glendening. There's 3.

The loss of Smith is addition by subtraction.
-
That's your opinion and that's just fine by me.
-
Howard has what 5 more years on his deal... Mrazek is basically ready to play in the NHL now. It stands to reason one of them will be traded within that 5 year window.
-
At some point we will either trade him or Howard. Unless of course he turns out like McCollum.
-
Howard is accustomed to playing tons of games even back to backs. Unless of course they are serious this season about resting him.
-
I just can't help but think he's being showcased, specifically to Edmonton.
-
Naw he's the best goalie they have healthy at the moment.
-
No my point is that Mrazek is 2-3 years further down the development road than Patterson. So a straight across comparison isn't that useful.
-
He's also 2-3 years further along in his development.
-
His trade value is very high, he's stuck behind Howie for quite a few years and we'll have jake Patterson coming up soon enough.
