Assuming we're looking like a playoff team come deadline time and that he's still playing at more-or-less this same level... ...I think he's worth more to this team and the rebuild effort than a 1st. We're in the playoff picture right now because we're scoring goals, and he's a big reason we're scoring goals. He's been a godsend.

Yeah - it wouldn't be a 35+ year contract, so I'm actually not sure term is as big a problem as I and others have made it out to be. But still...yeah, no more than two years please. I should add that I'm not sure Friedman explicitly said it looks like it's down to Buffalo and Detroit. I get all my Sportsnet rumormongering from second-hand sources as opposed to Sportsnet itself, because I can't stand Sportsnet.

Larkin's winning the Vezina this year.

I've been saying it for a while now: 1. Larkin has what it takes to be a low-key-Selke-caliber stud. 2. If you put an honest-to-God goal-scorer on Larkin's wing (i.e. a Kane to his Toews), Larkin and that player will explode - and that'll be a rising tide that lifts all boats for this team. 3. When Raymond gets bigger and stronger and faster, look out. So! I'm thrilled to see all of that coming to fruition and coalescing on one line. We've now got a legit young top line. That's a big deal. The next step, re: our forward group, is assembling a legit 2nd scoring line - i.e. a shutdown line that can score. Copp and Compher are good, but we're gonna need at least one younger player to be a top-6 two-way force for us. And I'm thinking that could be Danielson - and possibly as early as the second half of next season. Things are looking up.

I take it back, we're winning the Cup this season. F*** the police.
