Was tempted to say that, yeah. Even if we pick in the top 5, there's nothing to say Yzerman wouldn't "reach."
  3. There's also Kaski. Will be interesting to see how things play out. Not just with Green but with all the veterans on expiring deals (Daley, Ericsson, Green, Howard).

I'm of two minds hands on this. On the one mind hand, the thought of picking in the top 5 in a crazy-deep draft is tantalizing as f***. On the other hand, a crazy-deep draft class means you could be getting a droolworthy marquee guy as late as, say, 12th overall, because there's just that much talent at the top. So, for me personally, I'm jonesing for a top-3 pick but I'm also at peace with the very real possibility that we don't even place in the top 5. I figure this draft is going to produce a number of diamond-in-the-rough home runs like Larkin, Barzal, Chabot.
  5. On an emotional level, I feel you. But it's only been one deadline, maybe two. This season he'll be on an expiring contract and it's starting to feel like this could be his last season as a Wing. Yzerman being GM is another new element in the equation. So, I wouldn't be surprised to see him moved this season, if health permits.

Cold, bro. Cold. This must be how Jesus felt when the Romans wouldn't let him play bagpipes.
  7. The Wings clearly don't want Wings fans watching or recording this game, which makes me think something sinister is afoot. Maybe the government moved all the Area 51 aliens to Nassau Barclays Belmont Coliseum Arena Memorial Stadium Park Place.

Hey man, if you're content to live in a world without 15 people playing Reign in Blood on bagpipes in a Panera Bread, more power to you. Me personally, I'm not. I believe we can and must do better. Not just for ourselves, but for our children, and for our children's children.

For the record, I wasn't a drama kid. I honestly just wanted to f*** with people in elaborate ways. Sort of like the NHL lottery system.
  10. No Wings TV broadcast tonight. But there's always streams. SPOILERS: It's a Wings-Isles game, so we at least know this game will have a bulls*** ending and we'll very likely be on the receving end of said chicanery.

Back in college I tried to get a "guerilla theater" group together. The idea was we'd basically just do really elaborate flash mob stuff. Disney musical numbers, famous monologues. Never really got off the ground, sadly.

My heart goes out to all the stupid young holdouts who play for stupid dumb teams. This is so sad. Alexa play sad trombone.

We now go live to Patrik Laine...
  14. I have a twitter purely because I want to be butt slammed by Wendy's.
  15. Any updated thoughts on the projected opening night lineup, frens? (Oh God I sound like one of those woke brand accounts on Twitter.) Yeah, that first one's got some sweet Dreamcast-flavored vibes. I like this one too. #VidyaMuzak
  16. No FSD tonight. I'm assuming no website stream either.
  17. ...Or I'm just full of s***.
  18. @mackel What I mean is taking chances that he doesn't necessarily need to be taking, forcing things a bit, gettng a little loosey-goosey with defensive responsibilities and puck management. Again, I didn't watch the whole game super-closely, so people should probably take what I'm saying with a grain of salt. But, for what it's worth, it did seem to me like Seider wasn't quite as solid as he had been in previous games. Still solid overall, but there were some hiccups. And this wasn't an NHL-caliber Pens team. So, we might be overstating his NHL readiness.
  19. Did seem like he was pushing for offense a bit more than in previous games. I could see that getting him into trouble in a larger sample size.
  20. Admittedly, I've been kinda half-watching while doing some chores. But from what I saw he looked good.
  21. BOWEY! WINGS WIN 3-2 IN OT!!!!!!!!!!
  22. Scoring change: Bowey's goal is now being credited to Bertuzzi.
  23. Pens even it up on the PP late in the 2nd. Bowey giveth and Bowey taketh away. End of 2nd. 2-2.
