  1. These are the actual lines and pairings, btw:
  2. He's reminding me of Zetterberg with his puck protection and deceptive strength and ability to "slow the game down." Good stuff. End of 1st. Wings trail 0-1. Sad!
  3. I've been pretty supportive of Blashill this season but the stretch tip pass makes me want to punch myself in the face every time we do it. Zadina just misses the top right corner. Dang.
  4. Hung out to dry. Not that he isn't used to that by now...
  5. Rangers take the lead. 0-1. That was about 57 consecutive rebounds in a three-second span. Good work, D.
  6. Howard-Lundqvist 2020 Make Hockey Low-Scoring And Boring Again
  7. Make him proud tonight, boys! (And not by being "terrible"!)
  8. I've never been a fan of starting your 4th line on home ice, but ok. EDIT: Actually, I guess that's our 3rd line...
  9. Veleno baguette but he also spaghet
  10. Definitely. And, in Yzerman's defense, he wanted to stay in the Wings organization but Holland told him he had to go on a vision quest or something. And so here we are.
  11. Drapes is a ginger. This works against him. I didn't make the rules, I'm just stating facts.
  12. I'm just saying he's been able to avoid tanking largely because the team was basically in the gutter when he took over. They'd already gone through what we're starting to go through now and they were handsomely rewarded for it. And now that we're in the same spot, Yzerman wants in on this action. The opportunist hack fraud. But yeah, we're on the same page overall. We suck and we need to suck for a little while.
  13. I wish we could've gotten Tony DeAngelo when his trade value was at its lowest. Feels like we haven't had a proper paisano since Ciccarelli.
  14. I dunno that we can really count Tampa, as their success under Yzerman is bult largely on Stamkos & Hedman and the Bolts were able to draft those two because they finished 30th and 29th in 2008 and 2009, respectively. Could probably poke holes in the other teams as well. I agree that, in theory, an organization should be able to go a long time without bottom out, assuming they consistently make smart ("smart") choices and get lucky here and there. But if we're talking about the Wings specifically...ehhh. I suppose Holland could've done any number of things differently and could've delayed this rebuild, but, absent any incredible luck in the draft and/or the UFA market, we were always going to end up in this situation.
  15. Noyce! I hope you have a great time and a great weekend.
  16. Which game you goin' to, my dude?
  17. Notes: Larkin out at least one game, Green will miss rest of season [DetroitRedWings.com]
  18. [checks Akakabuto's profile to make sure he's not a lady] [he is not a lady] [proceeds with joke] That just means your boobs are too big.
  19. same tfw Wings Tank will never sit on your face
  20. Ken's impression is that Larkin's back problem has "been lingering for a long, long time." Which is...maybe just a wee bit concerning. However, in the spirit of flippancy, choose your own adventure: [ ] "This isn't even his final form?!" [ ] "Yeah, carrying an entire team on your back will do that to you" [ ] "He's gone full Zetterberg"
  21. I suppose it's kinda fitting that he's an ex-Hab, as the Habs basically just force nobodies into that 1C role and manage to make the playoffs every other year. WHY NOT US?
