LA did get a point tho, so they're currently only a point behind us, with the same number of games played. Yay? We're probably gonna finish, like, 5th from the bottom and pick, like, 7th. I guess I'm ok with that. I continue to believe that after Hughes and Kakko there's a group of 8(+) players who make up the next tier and they're all equally (un)likely to become really good players.

Daley was out. He wasn't missed. (We got BTFO tho, so maybe he was.) Bowey lived up to the "Could become a decent 6D" billing. I'm rooting for the kid, but so far I'm not impressed. Zadina looked decent. I think Blashill said he was the only forward who didn't have a bad night and I guess I would agree with that. Had a couple good looks. Definitely much more comfortable with the pace of the pro game than he was in the preseason. Agreed. We college now.

I'm not a fan of AA at center, but I get why Blashill would want to give him a long audition and see if they can't make it work. Nielsen isn't really cutting it as a 2C and I highly doubt Veleno will be able to fill that hole next season. Rasmussen is 19 and playing on the wing. This year's draft class features a wealth of talented centermen, but I'm not sure a single one of them will be a legit NHL 2C next season. So it'd be really nice if AA could fill that hole. It's probably an exercise in futility, but I get it.

For sure. But certainly the Habs stand above the rest right now. At least our losses to Tampa are somewhat respectable.

Pay attention to our passes. Not just that they only connect 50% of the time but also that they're rarely hard, quick, crisp. They're usually kind of half-hearted, nervous-looking passes. "I'm gonna make this pass but I don't have any confidence in our ability to do this right, so I'll send it half-speed."

That was one of the recent blowout losses. Can't remember if it was this season or last season but basically we played them on the anniversary of that fateful night and they absolutely obliterated us.
