This is a great example of how difficult it is to leapfrog your way into the playoffs with a late-season miracle run. We collected 0 (zero!) points in 7 (seven!) straight games; we should be dead in the water. Yet here we are. Crazy.

A win?! In THIS economy?!!!

People are saying this inaction shows he has confidence in the team, and maybe that is indeed the reality - but to me it feels like "This was never going to be our year, so I'm not going to sink any more assets into it."

Imma throw an octopus at Petry's stupid face.

Something definitely took their balls, that's for sure.

This was far and away the stupidest deadline I've ever seen.

> Max > "Hey Steve. Noticed the 411 on the upside was down. I'm thinking you panaramorized the inflection point of the hopscotch. Could lead to a lot of assists, potentially?" > "That's a great question, Max.

YZERMAN: "Tick tick Doug. Tick tock..." ARMSTRONG: "Leave me alone." YZERMAN: "Only half an hour left Doug." ARMSTRONG: "LEAVE ME ALONE!"

There's a part of me that wants us to lose the rest of our games just because I know that's the only possible way to get the trash patch removed.

> Next question > Ansar > "Hi Steve. Would you say that your decision to stand pat is an endorsement of the team? It feels like we've come a long way from, you know, the trade deadlines of the recent past, where you were looking more towards the future and trying to collect assets that could potentially turn into good NHLers down the road. So I was wondering if maybe you could speak on that." > "Well,

> Presser begins > Helene > "Steve, would you say that standing pat is arguably, in a way, it could be seen as maybe the best move you could've made? There's a lot of depth in the system and the asking prices were very high. Some would say not acting was the best course of action, and you did that. So could you maybe speak on that?" > "Well,

I think someone needs to give Devin a wedgie.
-
Everyone has sold out, gone corporate. Shameful.
-
And you guys said Yzerman wasn't gonna make any moves. Fools, all of you.
-
So he can fart on him more easily. Nonstop cropdusting from here until the next trade deadline.

I'M WORKING AS FAST AS I CAN

If Pagnotta told me the sun rises in the east, I wouldn't believe him.

Stand pat. We must trust the Yzerplan. Patience! Patience! It is now the summer. We mustn't make any big moves, because we have to see what the kids show in training camp. It is now training camp. The kids are not ready. We must tank this year because we need better kids. I will remind everyone that the Florida Panthers went into last season's playoffs as the top seed. We have a very long way to go. Patience! We are nowhere near what the Panthers were last season. Patience!

I'd be extremely hesitant to surrender any assets for DeBrincat. We're nowhere near ready to be a contender, so what exactly is adding DeBrincat going to accomplish? We need to be focusing on picks and prospects. Guys who won't be in the league until 2028. This is how we win. I know all these good players are going for bargain prices, but the thing you have to understand about Yzerman is, look, we talk about depth, and so, you know, Yzerman's going to stick to the plan, and we have to wait, we need Marco Kasper as our 3C and we have to wait the full four years for that to come to fruition, because we will get swept by the Rangers and upsets never happen in the playoffs, and this is why we should've spent the last seven years tanking, and now we're screwed because we didn't tank hard enough.
-
"We feel there's more offense there," Yzerman said. "We think there's another level he could potentially reach."
-
These players would net us a lot of 4th rounds picks that we would then use to pick players with names like Renny Maffrock and Willander Svenlanderssen and none of them will play a single game in the NHL because Kris Draper hates us.

Hanifin to Vegas surprises me, if only because everyone was talking like Hanifin wanted to get down on bended knee and blow ask the state of Florida to marry him. Sucks to be the Bolts lol (Now watch the Bolts get Buchnevich.)
