Some perspective: This misery we're experiencing? Imagining this being your reality for a full decade (and change). And that's with a bunch of 1st-overall picks. That's the Oilers.

And even there, they passed up a couple great opportunities to shoot the puck on that shift and ultimately only got one kinda-ok SOG out of it. I hope this game puts the fear of God into them re: trying to pass the puck into the net. Possession and cycling are good, but 22-25 shots isn't going to cut it, not with the makeup of this team.

I don't know how much of this is on Blashill and I'm not sure Bylsma would be any better, but we might be approaching that breaking point where you simply have to make a change.

It's like hardcore cold turkey drug withdrawl. In the the absence of Z and any kind of insulation on the blue line, everyone in Wings Land is being forced to confront the cold, hard reality. Sucks to go through it, but it has to be happen. Can't move forward until you own your mess.
