Well, now we arguably have enough forward depth in our system that we can move a Bertuzzi and/or a Svechnikov without worrying that it's going to leave a gaping hole or two on the organizational depth chart.

Probably a couple years. He's definitely not stepping right in. There are concerns about his ultimate ceiling, but, to me, getting him at 30th overall is crazy-good value.

If we get Zadina AND Wilde, Holland can stick around as Wings GM for as long as he wants.

I think I'd do it. I'd be really hesitant to give up Hronek, but I think the odds of Hronek ever becoming as good as Faulk is now are probably kinda slim. Here's my big thing: If we're really gonna try to engineer a one-year turnaround or whatever, we need to go HAM. No half-measures. Upgrading to bubble team status is the worst thing we could do. Gotta become a legitimately solid playoff team or else we might as well just stick with the patient rebuild/retool. Just my two cents, of course. The great thing is that we can even have this discussion now.

I've gotta think this nudges Kenny in the "Get an established top-pairing defenseman" direction. I said at the start of this thread that I was hoping for Zadina + Faulk. That would be awesome. Zadina + Carlson/Karlsson? Cancel the rebuild.
