Shows how important he is to the PK. He's also been our best player tonight, IMO. Dude puts in the work on every single shift.

End of 2nd. Tied 3-3. We are bad, but we persist.
-
Zetterberg with the assist.
-
That top line of theirs is terrifying. Over 115 points between the three of them. I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that it's 95% because Tavares is one of the best players of his generation. But, still, credit to Lee and Bailey. MANTHA! 3-3!
-
PK. Larkin back to the box. Isles score on the PP. 3-2. Larkin should stop going to the box, IMHO.
-
Mrazek's been good tonight, despite the defense in front of him. SOG: NYI-27, DET-7.
-
Ottawa up 3-1 on Minny halfway through the 2nd. Sens have won two straight, appear to be playing better. Good for our tank cause.
-
PK Isles score on the PP. 2-2. Maybe don't commit two back-to-back penalties right after you've taken the lead and all the momentum. #JustRedWingsThings

End of 1st. Wings lead 2-1. Decent road period.
-
Zetterberg and Tatar with the assists. PK. Abby being stupid.
-
I hear ya. PP NYQUIST! PPG! 2-1!
-
Looks that way. How's life?
-
FRK! 1-1! Ericsson and Larkin with the assists. I love Larkin.
-
That's on Green. Left his man all alone in front, his man (Lee) scored.
-
Islanders score. 1-0.
-
Brutal Kronwall turnover very nearly leads to Tavares goal.
-
Deflected shot catches Larkin up high (head...?) Seems to be ok.

Jamie Oleksiak nets the Stars a conditional 4th. https://www.nhl.com/news/stars-trade-jamie-oleksiak-to-penguins/c-294176484?tid=278542340 Good news for us, I suppose, as Oleksiak isn't any better than Jensen or Ouellet.

Less than an hour to go and the Wings still haven't posted the official lineup card. Low-energy! Hype-deficient! Sad!

I'm hoping it leads to some confusion and Dahlin somehow slides to the 6-11 range. -

Filip Zadina (RW, CZE) and Rasmus Kupari (C, FIN). Zadina: Kupari: -
The Tavares line: John Tavares - 40 points Josh Bailey - 40 points Anders Lee - 35 points Hot take: John Tavares is a pretty good hockey player.

The difference between the Leafs and the Wings is Auston Matthews. The Leafs got lucky. The more people criticize Holland for "NOT DOING WHAT NEEDS TO BE DONE!!!111oneone," the more I find myself rooting for Holland and his vision (or his alleged lack thereof). I would love -- love -- for the Wings to jump back into serious Cup contention within the next 3-5 years without kneeling at the altar of "WHAT NEEDS TO BE DONE!!!111oneone" and groveling at Lady Parity's feet. Because f*** you, Parity. You were implemented because Ken Holland was too good at his job and the Wings were too successful. If our sole motivating purpose as an organization is to climb out of our hole on our own terms and spit in your face on our own terms, I'm ok with that. The Leafs haven't won s*** in half a century. The last time they won the Cup, the Beatles were still together. The Wings have missed the playoffs once in the past quarter-century and our non-Matthews 2017 team is no less competent than a non-Matthews 2017 Leafs team would be. If "spinning our wheels" for the next three years means we pick in the top ten of the next three drafts? Awesome, I'm down. If not having a McDavid or Matthews that we have to pay a billion dollars means we'll be that much better positioned to sign a marquee UFA or two? Awesome, I'm down. Do your worst, Parity. The old gods, the true Hockey Gods, will smile upon the Detroit Red Wings and the Detroit Red Wings will spit in your face. Bring it.
