What's crazy is we might be seeing even more good head coaches let go between now and end-of-season-ish, especially with Julien et al. on the market. Baseless speculation on my part, I guess, but...*puts on Dreger mask*...Dave Tippett? Lindy Ruff? Jon Cooper? Dan Bylsma?

Don't get me wrong, I agree with this. I think we're a bubble team that's playing like a basement team. My point was just that selling an established, big-name coach on the Wings would probably be difficult. And that's assuming Holland would even want an established, big-name coach in the first place. (Assuming we're stuck with Holland. Because of course we are.)

There's also the fact that we suck and are about to embark on what will probably be a long and painful rebuild. Mediocre though the Bruins may now be, the Wings don't have a Bergeron or a Marchand or a Rask. And, of course, should Ken Holland remain GM past this season (incredibly likely), you're going to have to be prepared to fall in line with The Red Wings Way. Holland gets two votes, Mike "Best coach in hockey" Babcock gets one. EDIT: Ah, didn't see your latest reply.

I think it's entirely possible the message had gotten stale, that he'd lost the locker room. But, yeah, I'd say the Bruins' front office is responsible for the team's decent into mediocrity. They've made so many questionable moves over the past few years, going all the way back to the decision to move Seguin.

I feel bad for the puppies. They're the real victims in all this.

In fairness, the Isles have had five power plays to our...20 seconds of one. And that Nielsen penalty that led to their third goal was one of the worst calls I've ever seen. Oh, and the refs have been making bad calls all night. I'm not big into defending this team these days, but, all things considered, I'm A-OK with how the Wings are handling themselves in this game. (Though, Mrazek looks like he's drunk off his ass. Something's just not right with him. I'm really starting to think it's the new goaltending coach.)
