AA didn't see the ice in OT and played under eleven minutes in regulation. I've realized something. If you take all of Blashill's public references to "The Process" and replace the word "Process" with the word "Tank," everything makes sense. "The Process" is a code word/euphemism. This season is a lie. Santa Claus isn't real. Sheahan hates puppies. Deke is Real Good Defensively and he Respects The Process.

Percent chance of Playoffs or Potential High Pick

Percent chance of Playoffs or Potential High Pick
Dabura replied to AtlantaHotWings's topic in General
I dunno, I don't think the two have to be mutually exclusive. My heart wants this team to win and make the playoffs and take home the Cup. My head says, "Dude, c'mon. Squeaking into the playoffs is nice and all, but the only way we're getting back to our winning ways in the future is by losing in the here and now." I guess, in a way, I'm kind of "in the middle," not entirely sure how I feel. I'm ok with winning and I'm ok with losing. -
BUTT PATS

Well, I mean, we wouldn't stop at the three bench coaches. Goalie coach. Paul Boyer. Chris Chelios. Kris Draper. Dan Cleary. Ken Holland. Pretty much everyone. Even if they're not officially part of the coaching staff. Desperate times call for desperate measures.

Is there a rule that explicitly prohibits the stacking of coaches in front of the crease? Like a pillow fort, except the pillows are coaches. Guys, I think we might be on to something here!

I demand Manthafication.

If by "players" you mean Jonathan Ericsson. I think this is literally his third "unfortunate deflection" in as many games.
-
So, the final score's going to be 44-43. The only question is who comes out on top.

We have ourselves a ball game!

This is why I really, really, really wanted us to acquire him when he was on the trade block two or three years ago. I said it then and I'll say it again: he's a very special player. Alas, what could've been...

I'm really tired of this team losing to the Bruins. I want these two points. I want them badly.

Cue the comeback?

In theory, Vanek could fetch us something nice. But it won't necessarily work out that way, even if the team crashes and burns over the next few weeks and Holland resolves to move Vanek. For starters, it's Ken "Trades are hard" Holland, who's never had to be a seller before and who hasn't really demonstrated that he knows how to properly valuate his own assets (or talent in general). Additionally, 1sts and 2nds are arguably more valuable than they've ever been, so, even with the 2017 draft class lacking that gamechanging top-end talent, teams are probably still going to be very reluctant to "pay up." Stan Bowman himself has said that he probably won't be moving a 1st or a 2nd at the deadline: http://www.espn.com/nhl/story/_/id/18103137/nhl-chicago-blackhawks-likely-trade-deadline-dealers-season-bank-young-talent-getting-better

Nah, not your bad. It wasn't at all clear that I was kidding. It's my bad. I mean, to be clear, I don't think Stan Bowman doesn't deserve any credit. In fact, I think he deserves a ton of credit. Yes, he inherited a powerhouse, but he's guided his team to multiple championships in the span of about half a decade, in the cap era. Keeping the Blackhawks this good for this long in The Age of Parity (which, by design, punishes teams that are loaded with high-end talent) is an impressive feat. Bowman's had to make a number of shrewd -- sometimes difficult/ruthless -- decisions just to keep his team in annual contention, and some of those moves have worked out incredibly well for the organization. But, yeah, none of that really matters if they don't have Kane/Keith.

Tongue-in-cheek. I don't really believe it's Stan Bowman. Like you said, kliq, Tallon set the groundwork. I've just found that pretty much everyone I talk to (in real life) about Chicago and their success seems to hold Bowman up on this great big pedestal, which I find surprising and amusing. For me, it's Kane or Keith. Probably the latter.

Stan Bowman.
