On the bright side: we could never be as hilariously incompetent as the Toronto Maple Leafs.

THEN GIVE HIM THREE YEARS Honestly, all this hand-wringing. If you have a shot at an elite, game-breaking talent, and he wants maybe one more year than you'd really like to give him, and your team is a bubble team without any major upgrades...
-
Don't. Don't even. No.
-
This is starting to piss me off just a bit.
-
Was just gonna say. Is it the same guy? It is, right?
-
Iginla would be a guaranteed 25+ goals, though (and a RH shot, and a power forward, and an elite first-line talent). That's on top of what the others might produce, and all we'd be losing is money. Nyquist and Tatar are still largely question marks, which could be an issue because, the way our roster is set up now, we're going to need them to be big producers.

"The Purge." For 12 hours, all stupidity is legal.

I do kinda wonder if Babcock isn't sort of a UFA in all of this.
-
Mostly agree. Not crazy about Vrbata, though.

Carrier pigeon!

Wait, you mean several thousand FAs aren't willing to sign in Minnesota for peanuts?!
-
In what way, though? He's a third paring guy whose strengths are all failing him and whose weaknesses are extremely pronounced. I'd rather have Ouellet or Marchenko, personally.
-
He's not the Stuart we remember. Not even close.

Tank for McDavid. Duh.

Iginla is still solidly available. Just saying.

Paging Ken Holland.

Dear Goc, I hope Stralman isn't our guy.
-
Maybe we really are considering a trade. Stranger things have happened. Moses parting the sea, for example. No one saw that one coming.
-
Ouch. Poor guy.
-
Exactly. That's why you'd want to go to Pittsburgh.
-
I feel like it's between us and TB for Boyle/Niskanen. Nothing to base that on, of course.
-
Fingers crossed for Niskanen. If he goes to TB, I will cry.
-
Yikes. I'd really wanted us to consider him, but not for $20M. He's the kind of guy the Oilers desperately need, though.

Don't worry, if Kenny doesn't win big, I'll be the first to riot.
