It really does suck that we drew the Bruins. We had a really rough game today, but I feel like we've been good enough to rock any Eastern playoff team not named the Bruins. Then again, we seem to struggle at the slightest whiff of comfort, complacency.

He's standing in diametrical opposition to all the good things about our team that Babs has been talking up. Old, slow, soft on the puck, seemingly half-interested, faltering when he's supposed to be hands-down one of our better players and key leaders. My only question is if he's playing through something. We all know he's the streakiest player in the world, but, IMHO, this is really bad even by his standards. I'd rather try to trade him, though. His recapture penalty wouldn't be nearly as bad as people think. Maybe the Oilers or Panthers would be interested.

About Howard - he made a really weird comment yesterday, something to the effect of "You don't really know how it's gonna go until you're in the game. Maybe you have a good night, maybe you don't. You never know." Does kinda make me wonder about him a bit.

If there's one thing we should dump on Holland for, it's that he didn't bring in a defenseman at the deadline.

Also, he's paired with Quincey.

Well, he's young, has two games of NHL postseason experience, and he's playing the Bruins. And yet, he's probably our second best defenseman. The slashing penalty was costly and 100% on him, but I've no issue with his play.

I agree. All they have to do (aside from fixing the power play) is say, "Do what we did in Game 1. Don't do what we did in Game 2."

C'mon, GMR. You've spent this whole game exaggerating. They get a power play, it's almost a guaranteed goal. I like us at even strength, which is where most of the game is (or at least should be) played anyway.

I'm actually not opposed to this.

I'm saying we're the better team at even strength. They're riding the power play.

The Bruins need the officials in order to beat us. Whatever.

RE-SIGN QUINCEY

It's not even a matter of luck. It's what it almost always is with us, a couple costly mistakes and failing to score on 27 consecutive power plays. Semantics, but I'm just saying. If our power play is even a touch better than it's been, we're going into the third with a lead, in a game where we got absolutely owned in the opening frame. To me, that's reason for optimism. It means there's only one thing that's really killing us - and even then, it's not like we didn't win the first game.

We're (likely) gonna go home with a split, all without Zetterberg and Ericsson. We don't need to blow up the team. We need to score a power play goal.

Brutal.

Not really.

Imagine where we'd be if our power play could actually do something.

And just like that, it's a one-shot game.

The kid line should definitely be reunited.

None of what's happened should really surprise anyone. We're facing the Boston Bruins. We're not beating them in less than six.

I'm even more pumped for this than I was for Game 1, and I was really pumped for Game 1. At the very worst, we go back home with a split and home ice advantage. At best? At best, my friends, we have a very happy Easter Sunday indeed. Franzen, Nyquist, Alfredsson, Tatar, Miller, Legwand - all due. The last time we shut out a Totes L33t Team in black and gold in the first game of a playoff series? It ended pretty well for us.

Dat Flower tho.

Jackets win! First playoff win in club history! They really earned it. They could take this series. They absolutely could.
