I returned to the interwebs a few minutes ago to check on this game. Nyquist scored. Now Alfie scores. As always, you're welcome.

Stadium Series, Vol. I - Ducks @ Kings (GDT)

You people are utterly ridiculous. The red carpet was a nice, silly, totally harmless touch. The volleyball was weird, tone-wise, but also perfectly harmless. Oh no! The Coors Stadium Series is about excessive, shameless, money-hungry pandering and all-around stupidity, and it's spitting on the grave of all things good and decent and sacred! THIS HAS NEVER BEEN THE CASE WITH ANYTHING BEFORE!!!

    - Players coming out. (lolz) - I like these new New Jersey jerseys. (lolz) - Dave Strader and Anson Carter were a great team last night. I want them to call this whole series. Booooo. Hisssss. - Could the Rangers' jersey be more generic and blah? (All I care about is the jerseys.)

For the record, I didn't go to the game. Just realized my post sort of makes it sound like l was there. I wanted to be there, though. It honestly looked like a lot of fun.

Stadium Series, Vol. I - Ducks @ Kings (GDT)

THE MORNING AFTER. ASSORTED THOUGHTS. CAPS LOCK. - I loved Jordin Sparks' Star-Spangled Banner. So used to (and tired of!) people belting out every single note. Jordin Sparks is too good for that. That's why she makes the big bucks. *listens to his own music. feels great shame.* - The overhead-zip-line-whatever-the-hell-you-call-it angle was hilarious. There were all these black dots buzzing about (gonna have to assume they were bugs. If not, then demons. Maybe demon bugs. Possibly even bug demons) and they were in every way identical to the puck. I think they only used that cam, like, once. It's kind of a shame, because the game actually becomes much more interesting with eight pucks in play, and seven of them are sentient and prone to zig-zagging. Who knew! - The Kings don't score a lot of goals and they don't give up a lot of goals. In retrospect, maybe not the best choice of team for a monumental, once-in-a-lifetime outdoor game event. SURE COULD USE A WAYNE GRETZKY ON THAT LOS ANGELES KINGS TEAM AMIRITE? - Lots and lots and lots of penalties. - Hiller was incredible. That's all I've got. I'll write more if anything comes to me. On to Yankee Stadium!

You kidding me? This is the happiest the fanbase has been in years! You heard somewhere that the Boston Bruins are interested in Kyle Quincey?

That save was actually pretty huge for us. They take an early lead on a shorthanded goal (courtesy of an Alfredsson turnover) and maybe it's a completely different game and outcome.

So when would you make a move and what type?

They do need scoring, but, at the same time, that's part of their identity. The only truly big name goal-scorer I can remember ever playing for the Preds is Paul Kariya. They brought in that Swedish guy from the Blackhawks this past summer with the expectation that he'd be one of their better forwards. I want to believe they'd jump at the chance to have a couple of our non-Nugent-Hopkins roster players (plus a great prospect or two, and a first, and the Ark of the Covenant), especially considering how well they know us. Probably not, but maybe. His contract and durability are legitimate concerns, but I just feel like...come on. It's Shea Weber. On our team. For the rest of his career. There are worse things that could happen to us. Sure, I'd prefer two seven-million dollar defensemen, but that's even more unlikely than landing Weber. Mind you, I'm not saying I disagree with anything you said. I don't. We're very much of the same mind on this.

To be fair, we've been playing mostly good hockey for the past few games. Found a way to beat the Kings twice, deserved at least a point out of the Ducks and Rangers games.

So when would you make a move and what type?

http://www.coppernblue.com/2014/1/24/5341482/elliotte-friedman-on-the-fan-960 I've always assumed the return for Weber would have to be pretty mind-blowing. Nugent-Hopkins and a first-round pick isn't mind-blowing. Does this mean we might have a shot at Weber? (Don't answer that.)

So when would you make a move and what type?

(Of course, that Washington Post writer and the Capitals brass are very likely not of the same mind on the matter.)

It's time for the Washington Capitals to move Mike Green [The Washington Post] Green's an intriguing possibility.

It's really sad that the kids are going to be sent down. It's gotta be hard having your coach talk about icing the best team possible and no one's job being safe and grabbing your piece of the pie when the truth is they have no chance at "real" roster spots this season, no matter how well they may perform. It's kinda cruel. But hockey is a business, and you don't pay a guy three million dollars to sit in the press box (unless he's Mikael Samuelsson), I guess.
