Bump. I'm tweaking my roster. I want both Edler and Girardi on the blue line, and I think it might actually be doable.

Mo Money Mo Problems.

Tell me you're joking.
-
Hey, someone actually agrees with me on this point.

For the first time in my 20+ years as a Wings fan, I feel like I'd be ok with us missing the playoffs. This team is a dumpster fire.
-
Don't forget the Flyers.
-
I love the Red Wings, hate this team.
-
I don't think Hall would argue with it. Hall and Datsyuk? Yes plz.
-
Trade Howard. Taylor Hall. Do now.
-
And a forward corps that can't score.
-
I grow weary of this lame excuse for a Red Wings team.

Zetterberg - Datsyuk - Helm
-
Squirrel > Mike Fisher > Justin Abdelkader > Carrie Underwood > Kyle Quincey

You know what our team and their season reminds me of? Beauty and the Beast, When Gaston and his posse are attacking the castle, and Beast doesn't even care. "Let them come." And then when Gaston is kicking Beast's ass, and Beast is just taking it, not even fighting back.

First line should be Cleary - Abdelkader - Bertuzzi. I don't know what the eff Babs is thinking putting Datsyuk of all people on the first effing line, we need a new coach.

I feel like trading Jimmy Howard is not the worst idea in history.

A few complaints: - They sort of skimped on the two wins at the beginning, didn't they? Ours, in particular (the overtime thriller against the Flames). I get that the centerpiece needed to be the WC preview, but, I dunno, it gave me a weird impression. "Oh, hey, by the way, these two teams who keep losing actually won. It was nice. But we're most interested in losses, because that's our whole narrative dealy. DRAMA!" - Repetition. Predictability. Carlyle overkill. Too much locker room stuff. Maybe I wouldn't feel this way if it were the first or second episode, but by this point we know how the coaches and players are going to feel about x or y developments, and that every single player in the NHL says, "f***in' right(, boys)!" every chance he gets. - Hockey players skating on outdoor rinks and ponds. Is it the Winter Classic? No? Then I really don't care, tbh. Unless there's, like, a hooker there, or something. - Phaneuf's extension. It took too long. And, for the record, I would be saying the same thing about a Datsyuk or Zetterberg extension. Unless there was a hooker in the background, or something. I'm not saying I didn't enjoy the episode. I did. I'm not even saying it was a big let down. I guess I just felt like, overall, it was too much stuff we'd already seen, and some questionable points of focus for the non-game segments. I'm sure it'd be a lot more enjoyable for us if our team hadn't s*** the bed this month. But what can you do...

Also, when goalies "freeze" the puck. They're not actually freezing it!
-
Who was that? That was Datsyuk.

*bumps dan girardi up to $6M on his 2014-15 capgeek roster* *grumbles*

Didn't catch this one. I'll gladly take the two points. I'm just curious: Have we given up a two-goal lead this season? Can't remember the last time it happened. Must've been ages ago. I guess that's to be expected from such a steady, veteran team. Also: glad to see Quincey stayed out of the box.

Zetterberg - Datsyuk - Tootoo?

For the record, my question was actually an honest one; I didn't know if he'd been drafted (by us). I just Googled him and found that page and didn't really know what to make of it.

Or has he?

I know it only makes sense to not get too excited about Mantha. But, really, could he more promising as a 19-year-old? Like, I get the knocks on his D and compete. It's all valid, all true. (Though I don't think he should've been considered a "bubble boy" candidate for this Juniors team.) But, at the same time, he's a 19-year-old goal-scoring machine, with a massive frame he's probably not even close to fully understanding. D and compete can be taught, instilled. Natural scoring ability and size, not so much.
