"I f***ing knew it." I'm not the greatest lip-reader, but I'm pretty sure that's what Torts was saying to himself right after the Tatar goal.
-
Who's the guy who said a few pages back that we need two in the second? That guy is awesome. Now we just need a Weiss hatty.
-
I love that it was a weak wrister from the perimeter.
-
TATAR Oh man, the Gamecenter FS-D feed is waaaaaaaaaaay behind.
-
There is most definitely at least one person wearing a Bruins jersey near the end (our right) of the 'nucks' bench. That guy is my hero.
-
Did I just see a couple wearing Bruins jerseys???

I WORSHIP AT THE ALTAR OF DANIEL ALFREDSSON

It's crazy how fast every other team in the league is compared to us. If only we had a couple of blindingly fast forwards we could plug into the lineup....
-
Holland belongs in a nursing home. OH YES I DID
-
I would have sex with the Belle Tire woman.
-
We. are. terrible. in. our. zone.
-
But Holland needs his washed-up, over-the-hill veteran scrub plugs. It's what he lives for. It keeps him going, makes him happy. Do you want him to be unhappy? What kind of a person are you?
-
We're an average team. It's depressing.
-
Does Rask look at his defensemen and throw his hands up every time someone scores on him? I've noticed it's kind of a thing with him.
-
Ken's eyes are red.
-
Well, I mean, isn't that sort of the way it works in this league? Fail, steal underpants, get coveted draft picks, profit! (See: Blackhawks, Penguins.)
-
Not saying I don't like him and don't want him to - and think he will - pan out, but nothing's for certain with prospects, right? Just look at Smith. How many of us thought he'd be struggling this mightily? (Not saying I don't think Smith will become a dominant defenseman in this league.) It's definitely encouraging, though. Sproul's success, I mean. I guess the big thing for me here is The Big Thing I've been talking about: we only have a few more seasons of The Datsyuk and Zetterberg Show left. So, while I'm totally on board the Sproul bus, Holland should be aggressively pursuing any and all possibilities re: top defensemen, IMHO.
-
Let's hope he pans out.

Subban is exactly what we need. A young, gifted, right-handed offensive defenseman who could singlehandedly rekindle our offense. I fully expect him to re-sign with the Habs, though.
-
Yeah, our blue line is already stacked enough as it is. Kronwall - DeKeyser Smith - Quincey Kindl - Lashoff Who are you going to move/demote for P.K. Subban, reigning Norris Trophy winner? Maybe Quincey, but he's been nothing but solid for us since we traded a first round pick for him. Bottom line, we're brimming with all-star offensive defensemen. What we really need is a quality goaltender.
-
True, true. We're good against good teams, bad against bad teams. Also, the Flames always beat us. LOL

I think I'm gonna hold off on posting my thoughts on this until at least after tonight's game. If we make this four-game slide look like just an unfortunate blip, I might be less inclined to swing trades for Dustin Brown and Dan Girardi.

It makes me sad that "kids" these days (quotation marks because I guess I could count as a kid) have no conception of how obscenely good this guy was, how complete a player he was. I mean, you can say that about any great player of the past, but I think Feds is sort of special because he's really not that far removed from The Modern Era at all. (He's only, what, 43?) Put another way, Feds in his prime could probably still dominate in today's NHL. And, really, exceedingly few players in the history of the game have been the kind of complete package he became. GETTER DONE KENNY

I'm actually kind of warming to that pairing, because it means their idiocy is confined to only one pairing, and also because I've been thinking Kronwall - Dekeyser has the potential to be a really awesome first pair. And also, Kindl hasn't been all that great, so I'm ok with him being on the third pairing. Also, I want to say the word "pairing" again. Suddenly I'm really liking our bottom six. Now just imagine how great it'd be with Helm and Nyquist.
