No new messages in my inbox. Am I in trouble again?

Alfie impaled a guy
-
I remember the time when Ryan Miller told reporters he - Kaleta - needed to grow up, or something to that effect. Granted, he was speaking in reference to a specific incident. But the point is Kaleta is cheese. Reckless, dangerous cheese.

Vernon will scale down from the rafters.
-
Also #2: Helm!
-
Also: Tootoo was great!
-
Not the prettiest win, but I'll take it! Very happy to see Alfie get his first goal as a Wing! Monster was clutch! Woohoo!
-
Hear, hear! I'm thinkin' Arby's a hatty. Actually, that's exactly right.
-
So Gaborik's in? How do you play in an NHL game with the flu?
-
Gaborik has the flu. Gametime decision. Sorry if this was already mentioned.

Mule's orginal "image" was that of The Mule. And that was the invention of none other than The Captain. The fact that there's been something of a total 180 re: people's perception of him isn't just people being stupid; there's a good reason for it. Like I said - overblown? Maybe. But it's not like there's nothing to it. Everyone knows he's a good player. In fact, that's the whole point. He could be one of the games truly elite players if he'd just work on his "compete" and be more of an "everydayer." Also, the fact that he says stuff like "I don't really care that much about the regular season" (not an exact quote) doesn't really help things, perception-wise.
-
I like how he put it. It was funny yet pointed yet not pointed. (The statement: "I didn't give it up, so I don't know what happened.")
-
For me, the thing with Pronger - and not with, say, Chelios - is that he seems like a really epic ******. So many examples that it'd be almost silly to cite any. I mean, it is sorta common knowledge, isn't it?
-
Totally agree with you, just thought the link was worth posting.

That call against Kronwall was such bulls***.
-
I figure the fourth line, which should be pretty fresh, might get some more time than usual. Glendening has shown he can be pretty reliable, Tootoo has looked good, and Miller is Miller. Beyond Gaborik, no huge offensive threats that need to be shadowed, IMHO.

Lucic says he's never seen Detroit's Gustavsson play better
-
My thoughts exactly. As someone - can't remember who - once said, he took crap teams and made them great.
-
More specifically: 0-4-1 against them last season (unless I'm mistaken).

This game will be on the NHL Network in fifteen minutes. I've noticed more hustle from Franzen over the last couple of games. As Babs would say, "Good for him, better for us." But it's definitely been an issue with him for a long while now. I don't think that can be denied. Overblown? Maybe. But still an issue. Monster will indeed be in tonight. (Unless Jimmy has another last-minute turnaround?)
-
I feel a lot better about Monster now. I'd be surprised if anyone in the West really underestimates the Jackets after that run last season. And they really had our number. I think we win this one, though.
-
Monster will be in net tonight. Thanks, Nev! I don't record the games on Gamecenter (actually, can you even do that?), and I was kinda kicking myself at several points in the game. Really entertaining game overall. And that's exactly what I was thinking right before and after Weiss's goal - Franzen hustled!!! What kills me about Franzen is that he used to hustle all over. He was known as a fast player. He worked very hard. And good things happened because of it. That's what makes the laziness so infuriating. And then you see sequences like this one and it's like, Dude! Do that more often!
-
You know what I really like about the guy? He goes to the net. Look at his goals - all are scored from the crease area (except for maybe one? Can't quite remember.) Of course, it helps that he's big. But still.
-
You guys are a buncha buzz kills. Shame on you. There's nothing to say we can't and won't snag a key piece (at some point in the extremely distant future). Maybe not a Dustin Brown, and maybe not for Johan Franzen, but it's not like we're locked out of any and all potential trades of significance forever. I know, I know - "That's just not how it's done these days." But I also know (or, believe very strongly) that Holland has little "faith in the farm," despite all his claims to the contrary. Plus, people do still make trades. (See: Nill, Jim.) SO SHUT UP. WE'RE GETTING GRETZKY
