Ah, sorry, didn't see that dregerface had already posted it. I think the problem with swapping Franzen and Matha to send a message - and, mind you, I say this knowing you were basically joking - is that the big knock against Mantha has been his "compete level" (as Babs would put it). Essetially the same problem Franzen has: being consistently competitive, intense, invested, engaged on the ice. Fortunately, Mantha seems to be very aware of this shortcoming and seems dedicated to fixing it. Whereas Franzen.........

harold, I'm not sure why you get so worked up over this. I think you're fighting a very vocal minority (people who legitimately hate Daniel Cleary). And Crymson is Crymson. (Reply-Edit Dealy: By "legitimately" I mean "truly.")

We won, 3-1. Anaihbdetsjwou with two goals, Sheahan with one. Paterson was sort of hung out to dry on the Wild's lone goal. Up next (today!): Dallas. I guess they're heavily favored, or something.

Don't get me wrong, wingedominance - I'm extremely happy we have Jarnkrok in the pipeline. That observation was in no way a shot at him. Scott gets it! As for how he stacks up against Mantha - I'll take Jarnkrok seven days of the week. He's Zetterberg/Datsyuk 2.0. Not sure it's really fair to compare them, though, as they're very, very different players. (And that's a good thing!) Man. Our pool has never been this deep. It's almost silly.

I just hope their master plan doesn't involve trading Hudler. We all know where he'd end up.

The best part about this tournament's outcome? Our best prospect (Jarnkrok) had, I believe, zero points across all four games - and still we dominated. (That's not an anti-Jarnkrok sentiment.)
