I'll be amazed if he's ready to go by, what is it, 10/2? That's less than a month away! Not complaining or anything, just saying. I guess it all comes down to training camp, and how he handles the physicality.

Amazing.

Tomorrow night is the championship game. We face Buffalo. STANLEY CUP FINULZ
-
If it were up to me, I'd probably split Z and D. I was trying to go for something "realistic" for the first few games (if not more). Lemme think on a different look, with Z and D split up.
-
Basically, Crymson, I agree, pretty much completely. (Though I will say: Nyquist's wheels might make things interesting). Ideally, Z and D have a Holmstrom, or a big bad body, to work with. Unfortuately, Holmstrom was very much one-of-a-kind, and we don't really have that crease-crashing power-forward either. I guess Bertuzzi makes the most sense, though I have serious doubts about his ability to own that spot for 82+ games. I do like the guy a lot, though, and want to see him succeed. So, howzabout... L C R Zetterberg Datsyuk Bertuzzi Franzen Weiss Alfredsson Nyquist Andersson Tatar Miller Emmerton Abdelkader (I have no faith that Helm's going to be ready to go. I firmly believe he'll start on LTIR.)
-
He was, at least, strong on his skates - when he wanted to be. Which is to say...how may of those falls were actual falls?
-
Interesting. I'd assumed you were in favor of putting Nyquist with Z and D. I'm not (hence "To be fair...") I thought you were against the whole grit element thing?
-
But that's the thing. We have our scoring now. (Realistically, that long desired "power-forward" is going to be Jurco, Mantha, or someone else from the inside. Same with that pure goal-scorer (Pulkkinen et al.)) Instead of just sitting on that, we should be looking to improve elsewhere - and our blue line, as well as it did last year, and as well as it might do this year, would only benefit from a solid addition. Doesn't necessarily have to be a Girardi. The obvious counterargument is that there's no real need to go out and get such a player. I really have to disagree there. It's pretty obvious we want the Cup this season. Kronwall's saying the hunger's back. Alfredsson's probably on his last season. Howard's finally "elite." Etc. If not now, when? (IMHO.) It's about giving yourself the best possible odds of success. I just don't feel comfortable riding this current corps. It's not that I don't think there's talent and potential there. I just think it's years away (Smith), whereas I think we have a shot in the here and now. And, of course, there's Z and D. Put softly, they're not getting any younger. I'd like to see us win one more with them, or make at least one more big push. But I suppose this is all kinda pointless/moot. It's pretty clear that no one's making deals at this point in time. So we wait until the trade deadline...or until we lose four defensemen to injury on the same night...etc. I think we're mostly on the same page, you and I. So, like, whatevz.

You remind me of me. I like.

To be fair, he hasn't demonstrated that he can be a first-line force in the NHL (yet). (Not that it's his "fault," of course.) And I probably would sleep better at night if, in the event that he were placed in the top six, there were at least one big body on his line. All that aside...Zetterberg - Datsyuk - Nyquist = line porn.
-
I think we've established he had a bad season. A few things, though: - The Rangers, as a team, sucked. Really, really sucked. (Was it Tortorella? Was it some kind of locker room karma job? I dunno.) - Players have off-years. (- ....And sometimes those off-years make them more, shall we say, tradable.) - I believe he would be great as a Wing. We need a Dan Girardi, IMHO.
-
More boring than hideous, I'd say. Either way: fail.
-
Ah. I think I mis-read, or something. Hurray for three hours of sleep a night! And so I quit the police department...
-
More pics! (Sarah Lindenau remains clutch.) New Stars' road getup. (Meh, IMHO.)
-
For those of you on facebook - lots of juicy pics of last night's game can be found here. Not really digging the Stars' new road jersey.
-
I know, but still. Something a little odd about it, IMHO.
-
Next game is Sunday night. We play the Blues.
-
4-2 win over the Stars(' prospects) tonight! Brendan Savage

He keeps 45 thousand in cash (U.S.?) lying around?

I was thinking of updating this earlier. I saw a couple of full-size pics of the inside, when the water was up to the tenth row. For whatever reasons, I'd never seen the pics @ full size. Amazing stuff, and somehow more "real," I feel, for having been taken with a cell phone (or some manner of fairly inexpensive camera).
-
I think I read it was $45,000 worth of stuff. Which for him is nothing, but, yeah, I do wonder about sentimal value and such....

I was going to make this same exact post, even the bolded part in the quote.
