  1. Also, irony: the Ducks are big, which means huge screen potential. And we seem to understand that, as we pass around the perimeter, trying to line it up just right and everything. But then we wrist it. On the ice. Just off the blue line. 10 mph.
  2. I'm having a brain fartlapse. Who did the Ducks beat to win their Cup? The Finals, I mean.
  3. SHOOT THE EFFING PUCK WITH PURPOSE
  4. Nyquist trying to throw the team on his back. I like. I think that was our first forecheck of the period.
  5. "Selanne complains on his way to the rim of the circle."
  6. This is getting kinda ugly-ish.
  7. He's not so bad. Eaves is not feeling it tonight.
  8. Nyquist is gonna be real good for us in a couple years. Shoot the puck, and on net. I'm told good things tend to happen when you do it.
  9. I'm so glad we don't have any legitimate power-forwards. It's especially hellpful in gams such as this. Wow, I'm bitter tonight.
  10. Hey, let's be a little fancier.
  11. We generally don't do that.
  12. One could argue the Ducks have the momentum. But intermissions tend to help us - certainly in the previous game.
  13. Ducks are going to try to break Smith and Lashoff. And Kindl. Just like they did good old Danny D. (RIP)
  14. If you can't score with half a period of PP time....

    Impressed with our young core..

We're gonna need size and strength up front like whoa. Lucic's days in Boston are numbered. Steal him. Snag Wheeler. I don't care how important he is to them. Give them some candy. Everyone loves candy. And you know what happens if you don't get enough sugar? You die. And. Of course. Dan Girardi. I dunno how I feel about our young guys overall, thus far. I mean, I sort of have to do it player-by-player. Nyquist, good. Smith, ehhhh. Lashoff good. DeKeyser very good. Etc.
  16. Whoa. Can they do, like, a...rave...thing? Like the wave. Only...it's a rave. BOOM LIGHTS OUT OH MY GOD WITH THE COLORS AND THUMPING BEAT AND ABSINTHE BOOM LIGHTS ON what

    WCQF - (6) Sharks vs. (3) Canucks

I'm pullng for the Wild. Although, watching this program on Mikita and Hull on the NHL Network makes me feel kinda guilty. Sharks-'nucks...I dunno. I like the Sharks more, but I want absolutely no part of them in the playoffs.

Brandon Prust Comments on Paul MacLean - "Fat Walrus"

Sens lost key players. Spezza, Karlsson, Anderson. The equivalent for us would be something like Howard, Kronwall, Datsyuk. Definitely not the biggest Therrien fan.

Which Teams are Better than the Wings?

Seriously, though, the Rangers are terrible. You know how we play when we suck? They always play like that. It's just, they have Callahan, Girardi, Lundquist. And sometimes Nash. And Richards, if he feels like it. They don't scare me at all.
  20. Us being spoiled and Holland being a boob and the Wings' being two different teams in one don't have to be mutually exclusive.

Which Teams are Better than the Wings?

Sort of a cliche at this point, but: depends which Wings team we're talking about. The Pens and 'hawks, at least, are better than us. Period. Maybe we could take 'em, but it'd be a brutal seven games. None of us would be able to lift the Cup. The Bruins don't scare me, for whatever reason(s). I guess I see something of the Wings in them, namely the frustration factor. ("Which Bruins team will we see tonight?") We've been pretty heinous about taking penalties. The Caps PP would probably eat us alive, though we're probably the better team overall. The Sharks will always beat us. No, shut up. They win, we lose. It's just the way it is. Canucks suck. The Wild are the weakest team in the West. Harding is a great story, and you know I'm rooting my heart out for them in this series. But come on. Actuallly, the Wild would probably sweep us. Just because that's how it is with us. The Rangers are generally embarrasing. So they would beat us in three. Who's their worst player? He would destroy us. The Habs have major head problems - but if they can get clicking, they're a very dangerous team. Subban is the best defenseman in the league, world. The size thing is overblown. Prust and Moen have more scare-factorage between them than everyone on our team combined. The Leafs would goon us into oblivion. Though, can I just say, I don't understand how Kessel can be pretty much a point-per-game player but curl up and die every time he has to go up against Chara. We would kill the Islanders. Kill them to death. Kings are better than us, but we seem to handle them pretty well. When Dustin Brown is serving a suspension. The Blues suck, but it's that weird Hitchcockian good-kind-of-suck. I imagine they'd beat us in six or seven-ish. Don't look at me like that. Big, mean, brusing, grinding, defense-centric teams with hot goalies own us in the postseason. Bouwmeester would score, like, nine goals in two games. Just because. God I hate the Penguins.

    Eller Destroyed

I think it's kind of a truism that the suspension is a joke. Because, IMHO, this isn't really about this particular incident, not as far as details are concerned. The Powers That Be are afraid - and maybe with good reason - that if they let this kind of somewhat-gruesome, "shocking" incident go, it'll reflect poorly on the NHL's image, and all that jazz. They want the NHL to look respectable. No suspension = Casual fan thinking, "Holy God, it really is a barbaric sport. If that happened in, say, the MLB..." Or so the thinking goes. IMHO.
