Showboating? Is it not possible that he was just genuinely thrilled and lost himself for a moment? And is that really such a crime? This isn't Wimbledon, guys. It's hockey. Wherein fighting is applauded and bone-crushing hits are delivered on a regular basis and players are boo'd because they signed with one team over another and octopi and catfish and rubber rats are thrown on the ice surface by fans. And we're wagging our fingers at this of all things? A great young player scoring a big clutch goal in dramatic fashion and sliding down the ice in celebration? Really? Honestly? Seriously?

One thing is for sure: we're not getting him.

P.K. Subban vs. His Peers

It was honest. You're a young star. Loads of pressure on you to perform and sell the sport and breathe new life into the Oilers franchise etc. And you score that goal. You're probably gonna lose yourself for a few seconds. We watch hockey for the entertainment, the drama. The escape. The excitement. The rush. That's what this is. And that's why it is, IMHO, fine.

Point taken, though I'm not sure it's really fair to compare the two. Franzen's been pissing us off for some time now. Brunner's a blast of crisp, clean air-conditioning. What I'm trying to say is, f*** Brunner.

I feel like there should not be this much uncertainty about a disyllabic Swiss name.

signed Red Wings sign D Kent Huskins to 1-year, $750k contract

1. Good work, Kent. 2. Good work, Ken. Now lets focus on that high-end piece. -
Flip's tradable. Franzen, not so much.

Filppula + Ericsson + Kindl + Nyquist + 4 French hookers + a Subway sandwich (foot-long, Italian bread, not toasted, the works) for Girardi.

Some of you guys must be fun at parties.

Is it me, or are 5-on-3s the league's new weapon of choice in the war against low-scoring games?

Also, can we just settle this once and for all, please: BROO-ner, yes? I've taken to calling him Barnbrunner.
-
Agreed. I'd love to see what he could do with some of our prospects, e.g. Jarnkrok.

Franzen should have been at Tae Bo class during the lockout
Dabura replied to Behind Enemy Lines in CO's topic in General
No, at the time as well. Franzen was still a question mark at that point in time. A Very Sexy question mark? Sure. But a question mark nonetheless. -
I was going to mention Hull, actually. Brunner's a sniper-ish goal-scorer; I don't think he should be expected to do a whole ton of work in the rough areas. Certainly not at this time, given his frame and his sheer lack of experience with the crash-bang-muck of the NHL. He was brought here to do one thing, and he's doing it. Anything more this season (e.g. say he becomes, I dunno, a reliable two-way player) would be a pleasantly surprising bonus.

1. Hire Draper and Maltby as special PK coaches. 2. ? 3. Profit.

Barnbrunner.

I really wish we'd landed Parise. Suter, not so much.

Preeeeetty sure he does.

Hossa was a known, a sure thing. Franzen was a question mark. I'd go with the known. -
We will win this one. And by will I mean might.

We're always complaining the NHL is too boring. Stuff like this sexes it up, adds some drama, flair, theatricality. Do I want to see him do this after every goal he scores? No. But I don't see how that's an issue. Or is this already a common thing with him??? (Haven't really been following him or the team very closely.) Almost like his knees were...oiled....

Rick, that is hardcore fantasy and you know it. ( )
