It'll be interesting to see what happens, for sure. It's basically the Holy Trinity of 21st-century power-forwards - and they're all on the same team! I can't imagine The Hockey Gods won't break it up, this being an age of parity and all. Should we somehow manage to acquire Ryan, we might have a real shot at inking Perry and/or Getzlaf next summer.

Strongly disagree on both counts. Bobby Ryan is exactly what we need (and have needed, for eons). Look at our top-6; we can afford to lose a couple soft skilled Euro playmakers, especially if it's for a guy like Ryan. As for the pick - we just gave one up for Quincey. You can't do it for Kyle Quincey and then not do it for Bobby Ryan. Besides, it's not like there's a strong possibility that that pick might be a Ryan-caliber player. Balls to the walls for this one.

Can't stress enough: if we want a solid shot at landing Getzlaf and/or Perry next summer, (and we do), Ryan's our ticket to contention.

Hartnell would cost the farm, I agree. (Then again, he's going to be a UFA next summer.) Lucic, I'm not so sure. He's been on and off the block for the last couple of seasons - if rumors, whispers, rumblings are to be believed.

Hartnell or Lucic would be ungodly awesome. (Not that Ryan wouldn't, mind you.)

And Bobby Ryan isn't Rick Nash, but we're talking about the former in the new thread about the latter. We need to trade for a top-pairing defenseman. Some people say Bouwmeester. I say Girardi. Maybe Girardi would cost more - but Nash probably would've cost us a lot more than Ryan would cost us. Wait, why am I defending this?

No more "strong push"ing, IMO. No more kicking tires, helluva offers, trying really hard, pricing out, safety zoning. Nike. Just do it.
