1. If we've learned anything in life, it's that posting on an internet message board is always productive. 2. It's ok to be critical of the Detroit Red Wings. You seem pretty good at being critical of people, so, hey, why not give it a shot. -
Yeah, I don't see this early exit really hurting the prestige and "sex appeal." Actually, in a weird way, it might even make this club look better to prospective pick-ups. You could be the Hockeytown Hero, the missing piece of the puzzle for the Detroit Red Wings, etc.

Completely agree with the OP. Well, except - I don't think we would've cruised into the conference finals, had we made it that far. We would've scraped and clawed our way there, which ultimately would've meant a lot of wear and tear, and all of it for pretty much nothing (because, let's face it, this team was NOT going all the way). A long offseason might do these guys good, health-wise, and maybe eye-of-the-tiger-wise.

A buddy of mine got a good look at Babs at some point after the game. He said he looked like a man who has just about given up. Which, to be fair, is kind of what I'd expect after a showing like this. But, well, yeah.

Rinne's been good, but holy hell have we helped him. How many rebounds has he spit out for us right at his feet, or right between the hash marks, etc.? Like, 200? He's incredibly mortal - you've just got to get in his kitchen, get up in his grill, capitalize on the assload of second attempts he'll give you on even the most effeminate of low-percentage perimeter shots.
