I think it's the "Well, Nashville's a bigger, more physical team, so you've gotta expect they're gonna be doing stuff like." The sad thing is, the Wings are playing to their soft Euro stereotype. The Preds have absolutely dominated them in the physical contests in this game.

You know, I think this team's Jekyll-Hyde complex largely comes down to our puck-possession game. When we're able to establish it and more or less keep it up and running, we're good. But if it gets disrupted and we're forced to play something else, or, worst case scenario, the other team starts puck-possessing (which is sort of what happened here in this wretched first period), we're lost out there. Because we're not especially young, fast, big, physical, etc. Just very skilled. With the puck. When we have it.

We're being outplayed in every way.

They're dumping us in the corners at both ends of the ice, every single chance they get. Unfortunately, it seems they've remembered we're not an especially big or physical team.

Why is it that the Wings never, ever, ever have more jump in their step than the opposition has? I mean, is it because of the kind of game they play, i.e. puck-possession, where you (ideally) don't do a lot of running around, and so your legs might not be quite as well-conditioned and lively as the opposition's? I'm asking as someone who's played the game. It just really baffles me.
