The Wings don't expect him to be "the difference." This is a stacked team. All he needs to do is play his game, and that's what he's doing.
-
We were really missing him yesterday. He needs to get back ASAP.

HOLY SHIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

THAT'S WHY GOD INVENTED THE ONE TIMER BOYS

Our PP's almost as shaky as Hiller.

Jonas, meet Johan. Johan, Jonas.

Having the last change allows the home coach to size up what the away coach has put out and then ice a unit in light of the away coach's choices. The away coach is, of course, locked in; he can't make that "extra" change. He's basically serving his guys up to be inspected.

The defense -- or lack thereof -- was the problem with our offense in the '07 run. Take away two guys from the top 4 and suddenly the entire system is destabilized. There was that 5-0 blowout, though. No one seems to remember that.

I'm curious as to how many people here actually caught any part of the Sharks-Ducks series. Because, honestly, the Ducks didn't look scary at all. Way too much overestimating going on around these parts, imo. This Ducks team is a shell of its former Cup-winning self.

Barring a miracle, he won't be back for this run. Even if he were to come back, he'd more than likely be advised to play the softest brand of hockey imaginable -- i.e. no hitting, no blocking shots, no fighting....

Pretty much. I'd, of course, love for Dats to win it -- but I honestly don't think he has much of a chance for the reason you pointed out. I think AO's the forerunner; the Caps would be nowhere without him. The Pens would still have Crosby.

I'm pulling for the 'canes, but the Bruins are the more formidable team, no doubt. If there's one team in the East that could conceivably do some damage against the Wings, it's the Bruins. In any case, it should be a really good series. I'm loving this postseason thus far.

Good job with both. P.S. @ 2:40 of the West video.

Like I've said, I understand and appreciate what Feds did for this team. I also understand the circumstances surrounding his departure from this organization. Specifically, I know he didn't simply pack up and say, "Seeya later, losers!" Even so, I don't see him as the kind of heart & soul Wing that gets his number raised. In all honesty, it pains me to say that; I idolized the guy as a kid. I even modeled my own game after his -- and it helped my career, while it lasted. So I hold him very near and dear. But I just don't see 91 going up. Maybe it will, but I'll be surprised if it does.

1. I'm talking about AO, not the Caps. 2. "Shameless showboat of a leader"? Come off it. The guy has wild celebrations -- so sue him. Like someone said, he's almost the polar opposite of Crosby: down to earth, self-effacing, great sense of humor -- I really don't see what's not to like about him. If you don't like the Caps, that's cool. But to dislike Ovie? Weak sauce.

Boo @ Game 5.

Fantastic news! I'm happy for the guy -- whether he wins it or not.

Yeah, well, I bet my dad could beat up his dad.

How can you hate Ovechkin? Does not compute.

I'm in NorCal. I'm hoping local feeds will show any non-national broadcast games. Or something.

Not when one of the teams is the Ducks, apparently.
