Hossa's simply more talented -- and that applies to his defensive game as well. And don't forget: Mule has more experience with the Wing's system.

This is largely a semantics game. Bottom line, anyone who puts on the kind of show Franzen's been putting on since mid or late last season is pretty "special." However... Hossa is a bona fide elite forward; he's flat-out better than Mule. And he's the same age. So he's fully justified in earning more than Mule. (Not that I'm expecting a $4M disparity in their requests, mind you.)

Agreed. It's gotta be proportional -- clean payback for clean hits (i.e. big clean hit), drop the gloves for cheap shots.

Like someone said earlier, the OHL is a business first and foremost, and this ruling reflects that. Yeah, it sucks, but I can understand where it's coming from.
