Good call. You have to understand, I'm going to school in Northern Cali. So I'm used to having the Sharks shoved down my throat.
-
Yes, that's exactly why. "The glory of winning" clearly isn't enough for you (unless I'm somehow misreading your statement, "If you watch hockey to bathe in the glory of winning then yeh sure you'll probably love the wings. Otherwise...Zzz"). Unfortunately, what you're looking for -- a big physical game, lots of scraps, lots of "intangibles" -- doesn't exactly constitute a cornerstone of Red Wings hockey today, and no amount of pissing and moaning is going to change that.
-
Ah, good old parity.
-
The Sharks have been the best team in the NHL for several years? Could've fooled me.
-
Dude, then stop posting here already. The Wings are not going to alter their winning formula to appease a bunch of teenagers on a message board. If that gets your panties in a bunch, oh well, life's life.

SWF FTW.

"WINGS WIN THE CUP!!!" "siiiiiiiiigh"
-
Oh get off it already. This team -- essentially the same one that tore through the last postseason en route to winning the Stanley Cup -- has shown it can hold its own in the physical contests. This season, the team's more apathetic than timid -- that's the problem. We need a spark plug, not someone to protect our "high-paid pansies" from those Big Bad Sharks. Seriously, enough with the phantom arguments. If we're going to trash this team, we should be talking about the woeful defense, not the lack of fights.
-
And yeah, anyone who genuinely believes the Wings play a "boring" brand of hockey has clearly never watched the Wild, Devils or Canucks.
-
I find it fun and exciting watching my team demolish the competition en route to winning the Stanley Cup a la last season.
-
I was calling for Kenny to sign Penner when he was an RFA with the Ducks. He's disappointed in Edmonton, but I think a change of scenery might help. Of course, I'd take Franzen over him in a heartbeat (if financially feasible).

Whoa there, fellas! You're using logic and reason! Careful now...
-
Moreover, the competition is going to lay it on them here in the final stretch -- that's an inevitability. The only question is, How will they respond? (Hopefully by rising to the challenge.)
-
Agreed. This team has been floating all season long -- and it still is. How do you snap a team out of that? Well, you certainly don't tell the players, "Hey, take it easy. Relax. These games are meaningless. We'll magically turn it on against a team that will have been playing playoff hockey for 1-2 months."

Remember when everyone and his mom was picking the Habs to come out of the East?
-
I love Ozzie. But I love the big "W"s -- Wings and wings -- more. Conklin has been the more stable and consistent of the two this season, and the team -- especially the D -- seems to rally around him. So, from a practical standpoint, I think this is a no-brainer -- Conklin gets the start. But other considerations will likely get Ozzie the nod.

And you're nauseatingly haughty. Give it a rest. As for the thread topic, can't say I'm unhappy. A little disappointed maybe, but that's more the selfish fan in me who wants to see a trade on deadline day, even if it's just for the sake of having a trade to talk about.

We don't. Clement (and, yes, others) just have a shared history of "hating on" the Wings. Like I said, I personally kind of like it. But it is pretty lame -- especially in light of the fact that these "experts" are, like you said, notoriously awful at picking Cup champs.
-
Replace "an opinion" with "typical Clement anti-Wings bulls***."

What a boring day.

Looks like the Red Wings & the Sharks battling off the ice, Robert

Keeping Neil off the Sharks' roster is reason enough to sign him.
