Somehow, I don't think this is going to help his production much.

It wasn't a dream?! IT WASN'T A DREAM!

I'd give Hossa the edge, to be honest. There were times during this past run where Nick showed his age. Not glaringly, mind you, but time is slowly beginning to take its toll on him.

We might as well delete 90% of all the threads that have ever been made here.

No surprises here. I could easily see Meech supplanting Lebda.

Obligatory forward lines thread for next season
Dabura replied to LidstromIsASuperhero's topic in General
The problem with Sammy has always been that he's a checking-line guy who's been counted on to instead be a big source of offense. He excelled with Draper and Drake because that's the role he's best suited for and, therefore, most comfortable in. -

Datsyuk is more of a setup-type guy. If I had to pick between Hossa-Z and Hossa-D, I'd definitely go with the latter, as Hossa is a fantastic finisher. In actuality, he and Dats were kind of born to play together. Nah, unless the situation really calls for it (e.g., life-or-death 5-on-3). I'm sure Babs is gonna be tempted, though. -

*sigh* If Sammy gets put on a line with Draper and Cleary, he's going to turn a lot of heads this season. Calling it right now. -

Obligatory forward lines thread for next season

I assume he'll be playing on a line with Draper and Cleary, which is fine by me, as he played the best hockey of his career during that short stint with Draper and Drake. That'd be one hell of a checking line. -

...and you have me! *high five* To be honest, I'd really only want to see Hossa playing with Hank and Dats if it's on the PP. The thought of putting a guy making 7.4 on the second line is a little weird, but ideally, I'd like to see the ZDH line kept together, with Hossa and Franzen flanking Flip on the second line. Flip is a playmaker, Hossa is the ultimate finisher, and Mule's a monster down low. Makes perfect sense. -
And there will be no better team on ice. Bank on it. The D will be pretty much exactly the same. The forward corps. will also be pretty much the same with an additional two-way goal-scoring machine. Ozzie in net, with Conklin pushing Howard. It's a good time to be a Wings fan.

Honestly, I'll be surprised if he makes the cut out of camp. He's got a ton of potential, but he'll need time to adjust, imo.

http://ap.google.com/article/ALeqM5gtpFz--...qg1xXQD91LTR8O0 Right near the end. I guess he doesn't really come out and say it explicitly, but I assume "everyone" includes Hossa.

Holland's saying he wants to keep Hossa long-term. Holland's a cautious mofo, so him saying that leads me to believe he already has plan in place.

With all due respect to the thread-starter, We got Stuart and Hossa. This team doesn't need s*** right now.

Hi, welcome to the world of online forums. Enjoy your stay. Overall: 1+

I am getting so incredibly hammered tonight.

Hossa is one of the top two-way forwards in the league.

Oh. My. God.

Well that settles it, then. Filppula > Hossa

Looks like the Central's gonna be a pain the ass again.

Axing Flip is, I think, a bare-minimum necessity. As much as I like him, my heart wouldn't exactly break, especially since some jackass is almost inevitably going to hike him up to something in the neighborhood of 4. But Kenny...Kenny would be inconsolable, maybe even suicidal.

I'm guess I'm now this thread's unofficial devil's advocate. While Bert is a bit of a floater at this point in his career (always has been, actually. Not too unlike Hull in that way), at least his basic role (goal-scorer) would complement Flip's (playmaker). Between Mikael Samuelsson and Todd Bertuzzi, I favor the latter's offensive upside, even if he is the Antichrist. But really, dirt cheap Bert or no Bert at all plz.

Hossa wants to go to Motown, Motown has no room. Pretty much inevitable.
