GDT 2008 SCF Game 6 GDT: Red Wings 3, Penguins 2
Dabura replied to aflac9262's topic in Hall of Fame
I'm not the least bit worried about tonight's game. I'm running on two things right now: anticipation and excitement. LET'S GO WINGS -
1. Michael Babcock is the ******* man. 2. Therrien has been crying like a baby this whole series. Babs was answering a questioning and taking a little jab at Therrien in doing so. There's no comparison.

The Pens are facing elimination and...we're supposed to be nervous?
-
Dude, stop. This is serious. Now, as I was saying, this is a good move for the Leafs because AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
-
I'm only interested in the top 5. Nick, Hank and Dats own the first three spots, respectively. But we all know how the politics work.
-
In all fairness.... LOL OK sorry I'll refrain from posting in this thread until I stop laughing.

I'm game. I'll have access to four -- count 'em -- four computers.

Let it be known that I am an old-school rider of Franzen's jock.

The Cup is more important than Chelly's pride. I hate to say it, but he would be a liability in this series.
-
Even with Malone's elbows up in his face?!?
-
Be careful what you wish for; if the Wings get moved to the East, you'll be looking at a fascist regime.
-
Heftier fines are an inevitablity, regardless of what happens tonight.
-
Yep. I'm surprised it took 6 pages for someone to say this. The guy/kid can't have it both ways; he's a captain and the face of the NHL, and he must behave accordingly. Age is an excuse for mistakes made in the defensive zone, but not for conducting yourself in a way that's not becoming of a captain. All in all, I think people around here are generally too hard on him. However, I will say that I'm very disappointed with his performance in these finals thus far. That includes his work both on the ice and off it. If I know next to nothing about hockey and I'm watching these finals and following the press conferences and such, I'm thinking to myself, "Why is everyone so hung up on Crosby?" He really hasn't done anything in this series to prove that he's "The Next One."

If hitting Gary Bettman in the face with an octopus is wrong, I don't want to be right.
-
I'll take Ozzie over the likes of Giguere any day of the week. He's been very, very solid and has singlehandedly kept the Wings in games on more than one occasion in these playoffs.
-
If I'm on the Lightning's roster, I'm pretty insulted.

Well, I think we have to give them lots of credit. I mean, they're an extremely good hockey club, and there is not much room out there. When there is, seems like we've got difficulty scoring the goals. We're creating chances, but they're not clean chances like we had before because they're tracking back really hard. We have so much power in our offense and we can't get clean, clean chances like we did in the three previous rounds. It's frustrating because we know we could score more goals, but right now they're doing an excellent job defensively. - Hossa That's called giving credit where credit is due. See, Sid? Not so hard.

Marketing.

The Red Wings are going to win the Cup tonight. Typing those words makes me all tingly inside.
-
What really gets me is the fact that many of the people saying Osgood's stats owe primarily to the defense in front of him are the very same people who were, at the start of this series, calling the Pens' team defense much better than that of the Wings. But anyway -- Hank, Ozzie and Nick all deserve the Conn Smythe. I think Ozzie is the frontrunner, though.

"He did what any other guy would have done on a 5-on-3. Well, any guy except me, seeing as how I don't even play on the PK."
-
I definitely think Crosby should keep the "C." He just has some maturity issues, which is to be expected. He makes up for them with his play -- although at some point he's going to need to start working on the PK. I thought Hossa had been completely invisible until last night. That guy, the one we saw last night, is the Hossa I wanted Kenny to sign on deadline day. People have been saying "Flip > Hossa," "Stuart > Hossa," but I maintain that if Hossa were wearing the Winged Wheel in this series and Flip and/or Stuart were wearing the black and gold, no Wings fans would be complaining. He got a crucial goal, he rang one off the crossbar only a few minutes later, he forechecked hard, he backchecked diligently, he was fast, he mixed it up a little in the corners -- basically, he looked out of place on the Pens team last night. In a good way. Pound-for-pound, he's probably the most complete player they have, and I still think he could be an absolute monster if he were to play in Motown.
