That's Homer's game. He stops doing that, he gets off his game and gives in to Therrien's bitching. No thanks.
-
No glass between Pierre and the Pens.

It's more the obligatory disallowed goal that has me worried. Eh, "worried" is too strong a word. Miffed works better, I guess.

OK, seriously: http://www.freep.com/apps/pbcs.dll/section?category=SPORTS05 Read, enjoy, shaddup 'til game time.

Will the Pens' whining help them get the calls tonight?
Dabura replied to GMRwings1983's topic in General
- The NHL doesn't like this shutout business - Therrien is complaining - O'Hally's in I'm expecting the calls to be wildly lopsided. There's a chance Therrien's theatrics will backfire, but I really doubt it. The Wings will need to play a perfect 60 minutes. -
Yes. Pierre will scoop it up himself and use it as a toupe.
-
Man. 8:00 can't come soon enough.

To be fair, the media is the face of the NHL. At least to the casual fans and non-fans out there. What media outlets say does have some impact, albeit one that means nothing to hardcore fans of the game.
-
Well, this ought to be fun.
-
As the Pens have shown, no one the Eastern Conference actually knows who the Detroit Red Wings are. So I can't blame him.
-
I don't know, for me, I look at Crosby and Malkin and the general wealth of young talent on this Pens team. These are curcial years for their development. With that in mind, I look at Therrien. And then I feel bad for that young talent.

Burnside is, historically, very kind to the Wings. And like BlueMonk said, that Lemieux piece was scathing. Having said that, my respect for him has lowered quite a bit over the course of the last couple of weeks. The guy's on crack lately.
-
lol But seriously, it'll probably be Joel Q.

Whoa now. The "obstruction problem" in question is largely an invention of Therrien's. To be more specific, it's a truism; every team obstructs to some extent. The Wings are simply doing an outstanding job of taking away the Pens' time and space. It seems incomprehensible to many that a guy as talented as Sidney Crosby could be shadowed so effectively and efficiently, but that doesn't mean there's foul play afoot all over the place. If you want to talk illegalities, look no further than Gary Roberts' shot to the head. If you want to talk goalie interference, talk to Tomas Holmstrom. If you want to talk diving -- well, you know what I'm going to say about that one.

Hear, hear! As Matt said, Therrien's playing with fire; he's not exactly endearing himself to the refs, is he? Can't imagine so. Babcock, on the other hand, always says and does the right thing. Case in point: the way he complained about the waved goal in Game 1 by going toe-to-toe with that one reporter, rather than openly calling out the opposing organization or any one member of it. I've said it before and I'll say it again: hiring him as head coach is far and away one of the best decisions Ken Holland has ever made -- and will ever make. Therrien is thoroughly outmatched in this coaching battle. It's amazing.

All of this begs the question, Doe she post here?

I wasn't expecting a suspension, but I thought Roberts would at least be fined. Of course, as per the Parity Plan, that would necessitate a fine for Ozzie as well. So whatever.

Best. Snow. Angel. Of. Death. EVAR.

Also, can I just say... f*** everyone who picked this assclown over Babs for the Jack Adams.
-
So long, Michele. We barely knew ye.

Kill! Kill!

Not only is it not fair -- it just doesn't make sense. A guy like Helm can play solid minutes for a fourth-liner and generate some good chances and a lot of energy. Why give that up just so Mac, who has been brutal lately, can have 3-5 minutes of...well, brutal play?
-
No, especially with the late-change disadvantage.
