Obscene props for Mr. Andersson. I had the pleasure of meeting him once. He's as brilliant as advertised, really nice guy.

Why are the Pens automatically annoited the "dynasty" tag?

One word: marketing. -
Therrien has two options: spread the talent or max it out on one line. There are pros and cons to both. Ultimately, though, I think he'd be much smarter to spread out the attack. All maxing out the first line is going to do is make it easier to counter and contain the Pens' oh-so-explosive stars, as it's one less assignment the Wings have to worry about (i.e., Crosby's line = One assignment. That, I think, is much more favorable than having two high-level assignments divided between two lines.) I give Babs kudos for essentially calling Therrien on this yesterday when he dismissed the notion that he might split up Hank and Dats. Each of our top three lines as they stand right now can go toe-to-toe against any of the Pens' top three lines. Babs knows it, the Wings know it. Does Therrien know it? He should by the end of the night.

Represent. I'm in Easter PA. Not that I'd trek over to Pittsburgh, though. That place is a s***hole.

From Detroit News: Former Red Wings defensemen Jiri Fischer skated around passing pucks before and after practice on Tuesday at Joe Louis Arena. Just thought this was cool. I apologize if it's already been discussed.

Therrien will only put in Conklin if Fleury gets destroyed. So far, no destruction. The last change is obviously a concern, but I'm not worried. The Wings are flat-out owning the Pens; they'll need more than the home ice boost if they hope to reverse that trend.

Good to know.

Not really. I mean, yes, that's part of it. But he's also a tremendous leader who also happens to be playing phenomenal hockey on a craptastic team. Great guy.

Good stuff. I aree 100%. The best coach I ever played under as a hockey player was the one who not only knew more about the game than all the other ones, but also made it a point to call out players for each and every one of the faults in their respective games. People thought he was a monster, but you know what? He got us a national title. Not too shabby. Having said that, I think some of Therrien's current detractors are being a little provincial (or maybe just plain old naive) in their criticism of him. It's pretty clear what he's doing, which is deflecting attention/blame away from his players in the public arena. I'm sure that he's been taking a different, much harder line behind closed doors.

Don't worry, won't be much longer now.

No, a real man gives a wedgie in that case.

What difference does it make? Fans are enjoying this. Let them enjoy it.

Lidstrom Zetterberg Datsyuk Ovechkin Crosby ... I stopped caring after that.

QFT. The Pens are being beaten by a thoroughly better team.

Pronger wants to be a Wing.

Oh, I agree. Just saying, it definitely was a dive. But to echo what you're saying -- the fact that the Pens are honing in on this and the calls shows how frustrated and answer-less they are right now. Good times.
-
Give him credit, though -- he had arguably the best scoring chance in the game for the Pens and he gave his team a pulse there towards the end. Not to say his punch wasn't gutless and weak, but he made an impact -- something that can't be said of most of his team mates.
-
The Sykora incident was a blatant dive. It was most definitely a penalty on Sykora's part, but after having watched the replay a number of times, I'm pretty sure he wasn't "after" Ozzie in that sense. I mean, Wings were bumping Fleury behind the net all night.

I realize, Opie, that you get off on putting posters "in their place," or however you want to refer to it. But seriously, give it a rest. Right now, you're the one who's looking foolish, as I'm not denying anything.
-
And as I have said, tough luck! Sorry, but you won't see me "eating crow." You can keep on saying, "OMG, yeah, but like, this one time, you were all like mean and stuff!" But I'm content with where I am right now -- being someone who has problems with the GM, but has never given up on the team itself. Just to anticipate your next reply, Opie: I really don't care.

Truth. Someone teach that man how to hammer punch!
