I kind of feel bad for the guy. I mean, take a step back for a moment and consider how thoroughly the Wings have dominated this guy throughout his career. It's kind of embarrassing.

While I wouldn't call Crosby a liability, we're hitting on what, I think, puts Dats and Hank on par with Crosby right now -- their all-around solid games. Crosby can put the puck in the net, but his all-around game (i.e. two-way play) doesn't match Hank's or Dats'. When Hank gets going, he's doing absolutely everything, and doing it all extremely well at that. IMO, the same can't be said of "Sid the Kid"...yet. Besides, he whines like a little girl.

You guys...are way too sensitive. Bitching about bitching -- that'll get the job done! And yet, here I am, bitching about bitching about bitching. mehhh

I had no idea people felt so strongly about Cherry. Folks, LIGHTEN UP! Cherry gets paid to be Cherry. If he weren't Cherry, he'd be Brian Engblom or Keith Jones (read: boring).

The Stars need to find something, anything to get them going. They're a desperate team right now.
-
Good signing. With time, he could be a solid second-line staple.

I'm gonna go with PlayingTooWellitis.
-
Realistically, I'm expecting the next two games to be split. Which is all the Wings need anyway.
-
Oh, salary cap era. How you bewilder me.
-
That's a big oversimplification. Bottom line: yes, it will probably hurt the Wings a little more than it does the Stars, but with the way the two teams have been playing, the Wings could get knocked down a couple notches and still dominate. And let's not forget the all-important "lucky bounces." The Wings love those this season.

There's no finger on the panic button. Personally, I see no reason to think it's a clot. I think people are leaning that way because of the ambiguity of the reports. And, of course, the fact that he's had these headaches for a little while now.
-
Q. F. T. But really, we're both dreaming. No matter what Hank and Dats prove, it's not going to hold a candle to "Crosby's heroics."
-
But you may not. That's all I'm saying. Stranger things have happened. For all we know, he has been presenting other symptoms and they've simply been overlooked. Obviously something like a seizure can't easily be overlooked, but I could see more subtle symptoms like brain fog going undetected.

FTW!!! Basically I was just in a ton of pain all of a sudden. Called a doctor, he said it sounded like kidney stones, which sounded strange to me because I had never had any kind of experience with them. I didn't even really know what they were. I got myself through that episode at home, then went to get some x-rays when I was feeling better. Lo and behold: kidney stone problem! Point being, stuff can come out of nowhere. Again, though, all we can do in Mule's case is speculate. All of this is merely speculation.
-
No, not definitely. Many conditions can "hide" in this way. For example, one day I woke up in so much pain I honestly thought I was going to die. This seemed to come completely out of nowhere, but as it turned out, it was a kidney stone problem that had probably been building up for years without, up until that point, causing me any noticeable discomfort. And I only said two days to fit in with the other poster's three-day timetable, which I assumed was sort of a hypothetical.

The Stars are suffering from Holmstrom Syndrome -- they've been pissed the hell off about "goalie interference" (not to mention getting their asses handed to them) since game one, and it was very clear in Game 2 that they were trying to "send a message" about it. With the game being so close in the Wings' favor, you just knew this message would turn ugly at the other side of the rink. Even if Ozzy hadn't initiated, something would have happened. I guess my point is that this whole thing sort of goes beyond the "toughness" issue. But Babs said what he should have said. Gotta work that PR machine.
-
Clots are a tough call, though. It's possible Mule could have been having headaches for a day or two, then presented a possible symptom (e.g., personality changes, motor problems) that suggested a clot. But that's pretty much just wild speculation at this point. Who knows.
-
Right, unfortunately. If he does have a clot...well, I guess we'd have to assume it's in the brain. Headaches are a symptom, even if they come and go. I'd expect at least a couple more symptoms would be presenting themselves right now. So, the question is, Is Mule having problems beyond the headaches? Obviously they're not going to put that info out there just like that, so we're just going to have to sit tight and hope for the best.
-
Honestly, it's pretty much just Eddie at this point. Everyone else and his mom is pulling for Wings-Pens in the SCF.

This ruling is utter bulls***, but I can't say it's unexpected. The problem with it is what it says (or doesn't say) about Turco's shenanigans -- this is, in a very real sense, the NHL saying, "We'll turn a blind eye to that side of the rink." Not that we didn't already know that was the case. Whatever. Play ball.
-
It could be a blood clot. I'm sorry, but anyone who's saying it absolutely can't be one is wrong. I assume he's getting an MRI and a CT. If there's a clot, it will show up in at least one of those. Let's hope it doesn't.

I don't know if this was directed at me, but... Yes, the damage done to the "victim" does factor into the punishment in these cases. When I say it's a moot point that Osgood walked away without an apparent injury, I mean that, regardless of anything else, the fact of the matter is that Ribeiro's actions are suspension-worthy. Even if Osgood is 100% OK right now, Ribeiro still deserves at least a game. Anyhow, this should make things interesting.
-
Moot point. What Ribeiro did is suspension-worthy. Not too terrible, but certainly worth at least a game in the pressbox -- which is what he'll get, IMO.
-
The hacks at Versus are essentially making the case that because Osgood "started it," Ribeiro shouldn't be suspended. Which is BS of the highest order, but that's Versus for you.
